Wonderland Center opened its doors in August of 2006 and has since become one of the nation's most innovative and celebrated facilities for the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. Perched in the bucolic hills of Laurel Canyon, Wonderland represents the culmination of over 50 years combined experience in the field of addiction by its three founders, Dr. Howard Samuels, Bernadine Fried,MFT and Alex Shohet. Their vision is one of total care for their clients, with a staff to patient ratio of more than 2 to 1, and a completely customized care plan for each client, using innovative therapies from psychiatry, medicine, psychology, fitness and nutrition. In addition to their extensive professional expertise, the founders of Wonderland are unique in that they are recovering addicts themselves, and bring their boundless compassion and personal experience to bear on their work.
