So… You’re Interested in Exploring D/S Dynamics?
By Jamie Azar, LAST Intimacy Coach
Most people think the heart of dominance and submission is power. Wrong. It’s consent.
And believe it or not, this misconception creates a domino effect, fueling misinformation, myths, and stigma around D/S dynamics. The images many people carry of a dark, painful, disease-ridden dungeon, or the fear that submission somehow weakens a woman’s sense of self don’t come from nowhere. They’re shaped by cultural narratives, stereotypes, and, yes, popular media like Fifty Shades of Grey.
Anton Fulmen, author of Heart of Dominance, argues that the core of dominance is consent, not control (Fulmen, 2010).

The truth is more nuanced—and far more hopeful. This weeks story by Laurén OBrien LCSW *xualhealththerapist
If you’re a man who feels stuck in behaviors that don’t align with your values—whether that’s compulsive 🌽 use, secrecy , or patterns that leave you feeling ashamed—you are not alone. Many men struggle in silence, believing something is fundamentally wrong with them. For years, the dominant explanation offered to men in this position has been the idea of “addiction.”
But the truth is more nuanced—and far more hopeful.

Today, many clinicians and researchers are moving away from the addiction model and toward approaches rooted in psychotherapy, emotional health, and values-based living. This shift opens the door to recovery that is not about labeling yourself as broken, but about understanding yourself more deeply and building a life that feels aligned, empowered, and free.

This weeks post comes from Jamie Azar LAST Intimacy Coach
When you think about improving mental health, the first things that come to mind may be making changes to your diet, incorporating more exercise, practicing mindfulness, getting more rest, drinking more water, taking more vitamins. And yes, those things matter. They support our bodies, regulate our systems, and contribute to overall well-being.
But what if we told you, there’s a whole world, an adult playground full of possibility, artistry, exploration and self-discovery?

This weeks post written by Trauma is a powerful thing.
One violent experience can have reverberations into all of your future relationships with others, and even your relationship with your own body.
A series of negative experiences that happened decades ago can make it feel impossible to trust anyone.
The good news is that our brains have plasticity, and we can learn to feel safety in our bodies, just like we learned to adapt to danger.
Jessica is a licensed marriage and family therapist, and somatic therapist who uses EMDR, in conjunction with relational talk therapy for your collaborative healing journey.

These stories bring me hope. 🏳️‍🌈❤️
Posted • Thousands of LGBTQ couples got married in Thailand today as the country’s same-s*x marriage bill finally kicked in.

The bill was passed in a historic parliamentary vote last June, making Thailand the third country in Asia to allow equal marriage, after Taiwan and Nepal. Today, more than 1,800 couples around the country tied the knot, as Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra wrote on social media: “The rainbow flag is proudly flying over Thailand.”

Her predecessor, Srettha Thavisin, added, “Recently, a country’s leader said that there were only two genders, but I think we are more open-minded than that.”

What is happening in our world is real

We will not sit down

We will stand up and shout

Share our voices

Speak our truth

Stomp our feet

We are fighters

We are artists

We are survivors

We are believers

We know we don’t need to follow these rules

We have never followed the rules

We have made our own

for so long

We have chosen to love who we want to love

We have allowed ourselves to express our truths,

Despite being born in bodies that are incongruent with who we feel we are inside.

Despite how they conditioned us to be

Boy or Girl
Binary

We have fought hard to live in our fluidity

To be accepted in our integrity.

This is not a time to lie down.

This is not a time to go hide in a dark corner.

We must show up in droves.

We must make art that pushes the envelope

We must make waves that wake up the complicit

We must be convicted about who we are at our core

💜💙💚💛🧡❤️

To my trans, q***r, non-monogamous, polyamorous, artist friends and family, I am here with you, and for you! Let us stand and rise together!

I don’t think it’s a great idea for us to get off of social media. We can’t let them push us down. We need to stick together and become united.
