This is a holiday sensory bag activity.🎄 A Christmas tree shape is placed inside a sealed clear bag filled with gel or liquid. Children decorate the tree by pushing colorful pom-poms around on the outside of the bag, moving them into place.
How This Activity Helps Children Learn:
Fine Motor Development:
Children strengthen finger, hand, and wrist muscles by pinching, pressing, and sliding the pom-poms across the bag—important skills for writing and self-help tasks.
Sensory Exploration:
The squishy texture, resistance of the gel, and visual movement provide rich tactile and visual sensory input, supporting sensory processing and regulation.
Hand-Eye Coordination:
Children practice coordinating what they see with how they move their hands as they guide the “ornaments” to specific spots on the tree.
