Each year, Part D plans can change their premiums, deductibles, and copays. And throughout the year, you move through coverage phases. Your costs will differ in each coverage phase. You might also experience drug cost changes if you take a medication with negotiated prices.
Remember that there are two ways to get Part D coverage—through a stand-alone Part D plan, or as part of a Medicare Advantage plan. The information here on Part D costs applies to both kinds of Part D coverage.
Contact your SHIP if you have questions about changes in costs and coverage of your Medicare in 2026, for help understanding SEPs, or to learn about programs that can help you with Medicare costs. SHIP counselors provide unbiased Medicare counseling and assistance. www.shiphelp.org

Louisville households can apply for LIHEAP Fall Subsidy from Jan. 6 to March 27, 2026, to help with heating costs during the colder months.
Eligible households with income up to 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may qualify for a one-time benefit. This program covers heating costs for electric, natural gas, propane, coal, wood, or fuel oil. Benefits are paid directly to the energy vendor, and no disconnect notice or past-due bill is required to apply.
Assistance received during previous LIHEAP components does not affect eligibility. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
To schedule an appointment, call 502-991-8391 or visit online at louisvilleky.cascheduler.com/ . After scheduling an appointment, please be sure to bring all required documentation on the day of your appointment.
