New Parents With CF Needed for Study

Join the Health Outcomes of Parents with Cystic Fibrosis (HOPeCF) study to help CF care teams better support people with CF during early parenthood. The study is recruiting people with CF who are new parents to help understand if, when, and how parenthood affects lung function, mental health, stress, and other CF-related health outcomes. Study participants will complete 12 online surveys over a 5-year period and receive $30 per completed survey. Researchers also will collect data from participants' medical records. The Familiar Pinch – Cystic Fibrosis Chronicles is a free, remote, 6 month-long photography and writing program for adolescents and young adults (ages 13–19) living with Cystic Fibrosis. This is a space for creativity, community, and connection, open to anyone with CF who wants to explore photography and writing while building friendships with others who get it. If you are interested, please submit your form by October 1st, 2025.

About the program: Participants will join Zoom workshops every other week. In these sessions, you will learn how to use digital cameras, receive creative prompts to guide image-making and writing, and explore artwork by the project creator (me!) and others in the chronic illness community for inspiration.
Through photography and journaling, participants will reflect on daily life, identity, and what it means to live with CF as well as have the opportunity to share and discuss their work with peers in a supportive space. At the end of the program, everyone’s contributions will be compiled and curated into a professionally printed book that celebrates each participant’s unique story and perspective.

Just a reminder, people with cystic fibrosis age 2 years and over are to wear a mask in the common areas of the healthcare setting such as a lobby, hallway, or elevator. Masks are not needed in areas such as the patient exam room or PFT lab. If you do not have a mask upon entry to a healthcare setting, masks are available for use at check in or conceirge desks. If you have CF, please wear a mask to help reduce the risk of contracting an infectious disease. We care about your health and want to keep you "bug" free!
