We are excited to announce that we are now doing a Hoopin’ for a Cure “Split the Pot” 50/50 raffle in the days ahead as we are counting down to “Hoopin’ for a Cure” Youth Skills Camp and 3x3 Basketball Tournament.

1 ticket is $5.00
3 tickets are $10.00
8 tickets are $20.00

We will go live on socials right before the Championship game on Saturday, September 13th to draw the winner of the pot. Half will be awarded to winner the other half will go to Cure SMA!

Our family is thrilled to announce the Inaugural Samuel’s Miracle in Action “Hoopin’ for a Cure” 3x3 Basketball Tournament to benefit Cure SMA! This tournament will be held on Saturday, September 14th at W.E.B. DuBois Academy gymnasium. Doors open at 9:30am and first game will start at 10:00am!

We feel that this event will be a memorable way for us to honor and celebrate Samuel just two days after his 7th birthday! Plus, we are excited for the opportunity to raise money for the amazing organization that has supported us and many more SMA families on their journey!

If you are interested in creating a team to participate in this event, please see the flyer below. You can scan the QR code to register your team and pay your fee online! If your team would like to play on behalf of a local SMA Warrior, we have many families and friends who would love to be represented on the court!

This is truly outside of my comfort zone (asking for help), but sometimes you have to step out in faith! I’m polling all of our family, friends, loved ones, prayer partners and supporters of Samuel and his/our journey to conquer SMA:

If we were to do a barbecue/fish/chicken plus sides and dessert fundraiser to raise funds to build an all season patio pergola to cover Samuel’s swim spa before the weather turns bad this fall/winter would you be interested in participanting/purchasing/contributing? You all know Sam is a grill master!!!

We would really like for Samuel to be able to utilize his spa year round and, of course, it would be extremely beneficial for him! The only way we can do this without taking on a large amount of debt is by doing a fundraiser! While finishing up his PT session with Ms. Abby, Samuel chose (using his speech device) to “let’s play with music” and then selected “Cocomelon”. His reward for having such an amazing session was to swing and listen to some of his favorite Cocomelon songs! Today was a great day with Ms. Abby!

We are excited to share that today Samuel’s “Make-A-Wish” was granted! Samuel loves to swim….he loves the feeling of being able to move freely in water without the weight of the world and gravity pushing on his little body. Today, Samuel received a swim spa here at our home so he can swim whenever he wants and our family can enjoy this beloved activity together!

Thank you so much to Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana for granting Samuel’s wish and also an enormous thank you to Genentech for selecting Samuel as their “Make-A-Wish” kid! This has truly been such a blessing for Samuel and for our entire family! We can’t wait to enjoy this spa for years and years to come!
