Things got a little wild for residents in Atria Del Sol's memory care neighborhood when they took a trip to the Orange County Parks Zoo! 🐢 🐐 🦍

"It was great," beams Norman. "We saw a lot of animals and it was nice to be able to pet some of them!" His favorite of them all? "Oh, I liked seeing the big turtles the most."

"We very much enjoyed the trip," Norman adds. "I'm happy to live at Atria. Everyone is so friendly and likes to talk to one another. This is my home."

The Olympic torch was lit, and the games were played! We celebrated in style from the start of the Winter Olympics to the closing ceremony. Residents gathered to cheer on their favorite teams, waving flags and sharing in the international excitement. Communities watched the live broadcasts together, played games and enjoyed delicious snacks. We're so impressed by all the amazing athletes.

"As a server, I look forward to going to work every morning, and I take pride in providing meals to our residents," shares Rosie, a waitstaff team member at Atria Park of Vintage Hills. "I also enjoy talking with the residents, discussing things like their past careers and family. The residents love talking about their lives. Their faces light right up."

Hospitality team members like Rosie are so important in providing a great experience for residents. "I love when residents come to the door to the kitchen to say thank you and goodbye," Rosie adds. "It's a nice feeling to know that I was able to provide an enjoyable dining experience for the residents. Actually, it doesn't even feel like work. It feels like family."

Happy National Hospitality Workers Day and thank you, Rosie, for all you do to give our residents amazing experiences!

In honor of National Caregivers Day, we’re shining a light on the people whose steady presence makes all the difference. 💚

For 26 years, Marcella has been a trusted caregiver at Atria Carrollton, supporting residents in assisted living and memory care with consistency, patience and heart. As a Resident Medication Assistant and recent Exceptional Service Award recipient, she represents what caregiving looks like at its very best – calm under pressure, dependable in every moment and deeply committed to the people she serves.

Families often ask, “Who will really be there for my loved one each day?” Marcella’s story is a powerful answer.

This National Caregivers Day, read more about her remarkable impact in our Caregivers Guide blog:

Let the good times roll!

We had big fun "Big Easy" style as we celebrated Mardi Gras. Decked out in masks, boas and all things purple, gold and green, residents enjoyed lots of laughs, king cake and all that jazz. 💜💛💚

Salute! We raised a glass to good company and the Winter Olympic Games with a favorite Italian pre-dinner tradition for our Italian Aperitivo Social Series event.

We indulged in antipasto, herbed focaccia, cannoli, Italian spritzes and coffees while celebrating our favorite winter sports.

Residents in the memory care neighborhood of Atria Rocklin are sending their love, one letter at a time. 💌

They put pen to paper, sharing memories, gratitude and little updates from the heart with their family and friends. These meaningful letters help residents feel connected to those who live farther away.

And in a world of emails and text messages, who doesn't love getting physical mail?

"It's the Museum of Me," shares Margaret, a resident at Atria El Camino Gardens, as she gives a tour of her apartment. "I’ve been a collector of moments and things; each piece reflects a chapter of my story," she adds. "My favorite keepsake is a picture of me at three years old."

Life has taken her from Jamaica to Mexico, Tahiti and beyond. "I've got a vase from Japan that’s been with me for 30 years. Every item reminds me to appreciate what’s given out of love, not obligation."

Even the smallest treasures hold meaning. "This is me," she adds with a smile.

“It felt unusual, in a good way, to celebrate my 100th birthday with friends and neighbors around me," shares Lydia. "I’m a quiet person, but I’ve made many friends at Atria Golden Creek.”

With this major milestone under her belt, she is more than qualified to give younger generations a piece of advice. "Stay active, stay away from drugs and alcohol, and love something – nature, music, anything. Just love something.”

Speaking of staying active and loving nature, you can find Lydia out and about daily, enjoying the grounds of Golden Creek. “My favorite thing about living here is the walking program. We are lucky to be between two lakes, with a creek walk right next to our building. We go to the lakes and watch the birds, ducks and geese – and that makes me very happy.”

Join us in wishing Lydia a happy birthday!
