Winter can feel heavy and slow — but in Traditional Chinese Medicine, that’s completely natural. Winter is the most Yin time of year, a season of quiet, restoration, and turning inward. When we honor that rhythm, our health can actually thrive.
Here are a few simple ways to stay balanced this season:
• Protect your Yang energy: stay warm, rest more, limit stress
• Guard against cold & wind: especially around the neck and upper back
• Support digestion: choose warm, cooked foods like soups + stews
• Keep moisture in the body: hydrate, humidifier, moistening foods
• Move gently: walking, stretching, light yoga
• Honor rest: early nights, slow mornings, cozy downtime
🔥 And a winter favorite — Moxibustion!
Moxa gently warms the meridians, supports circulation, and nourishes your “inner spark.” Many people notice warmer hands/feet, better digestion, improved mood and energy, and less stiffness.
If winter has you feeling tired, cold, or unmotivated, moxa can be a grounding and revitalizing tool. I’m happy to add it to your next session.
Stay warm + stay well this season. ❄️💛
