Full Circle Holistic uses techniques both ancient and ground-breaking to create a new paradigm for woman’s wellness. The interplay between diet, exercise, movement, relationships with others, our physical bodies and our sense of well-being determines our health. We believe in homeostasis, which is the body’s ability to maintain healthy and stable function. At times, outside forces in our lives cause imbalance. Our role is to support its journey back to wellness. By taking the time to examine all the factors involved, we work together to remove obstacles to the body’s innate ability to heal. Our priority is teaching prevention and self-care tools to help empower women to take control of their health. We work in partnership with our clients to develop individualized programs to address their needs and bring long-lasting changes to their overall health.

What began as a few shelves in Dr. Rebecca Cohen’s women’s health practice has evolved into an apothecary ready to stand on its own: Shekinah Herbals.

As Rebecca’s lifelong relationship with herbs has deepened over the past few years, so has her desire to share them with others.

Rebecca sees plants as intelligent allies for people. She believes you can reconnect with an indwelling knowledge of plants by using herbs. And restore sovereignty over your health in the process.

Shekinah is a manifestation of both her philosophy and work with herbs: growing and crafting them into potent tinctures, oils, and steams.

As a physician, midwife, and herbalist, Rebecca is committed to supporting women and their families. Shekinah Herbals continues this work, and it extends its reach into the world.

Plants teach us through relationship.

At Shekinah, this is the foundation of how we approach herbalism.

Rather than isolating a single use or effect, we engage with whole plants over time, through observation, preparation, and consistent use.

This is how herbal knowledge develops: gradually, through repeated interaction, and by paying attention to how the plant meets the body in practice.

Calendula (Calendula officinalis) is one of the plants we love to learn from.

In traditional herbal practice, calendula is associated with the lymphatic system and glandular tissues, and is commonly worked with in support of skin integrity and tissue-level repair, particularly through topical preparations, infused oils, teas, or V-steams.*

These qualities are not fully understood in a single moment or application. They are revealed through consistent use - day after day, week after week

Calendula holds her properties well in preparation. When infused into oil, steeped as tea, or included in a V-steam, she offers steady, observable qualities that you can experience directly.

For those of you who are new here, I’m Dr. Rebecca Cohen, the founder of Shekinah Herbals (previously Full Circle Apothecary).

My path into herbalism began early, with a simple but lasting curiosity about how plants support the body.

As a physician, herbalist, and mother, my work has always centered women and families, with a core understanding that wellness comes through relationship with ourselves, our communities, and the natural world.

Shekinah Herbals grew from this understanding.

It is a continuation of my clinical work at The Mothertree, and is a space where I offer plant-based preparations that are thoughtful, grounded, and rooted in traditional use.

In my experience, working with plants is not passive.

It invites attention, consistency, and an ongoing connection to nature.

Through this work, my intention is to support a deeper reconnection—

between women and their bodies, between people and plants, and between our lives and the rhythms of the natural world.

Our new name and website reflect our deep commitment to working in relationship with plants and people guided by reverence, care, and a belief in the body’s innate intelligence.

Rooted in Dr. Rebecca Cohen’s midwifery practice, our Louisville-based apothecary reflects our commitment to creating products that are grounded, intentional, and alive. We support women and families in reconnecting with their innate wholeness, the rhythms of nature, and the quiet presence of healing that already dwells within.

As our product line has grown over the years, so has our need for an online home that better reflects our heartfelt vision.

Our Story

Dr. Rebecca Cohen, MD, Certified Arvigo® and Holistic Pelvic Care Practitioner offers gentle integrative healing practices for women to help evaluate and restore physical and energetic balance and treat common female health concerns. At Full Circle Holistic, I address all aspects of women’s health care from specific gynecologic complaints such as urinary tract infections to overall wellness including balanced hormonal, reproductive and digestive systems.
