The art of hygge is therefore also the art of expanding your comfort zone to include other people.

Hygge was never meant to be translated-- it was meant to be felt. --Pia Edberg, The Cozy Life: Rediscover the Joy of the Simple Things Through the Danish Concept of Hygge
Hello, so glad you are here.
The Danish practice of hygge (pronounced "hoo-gah", mostly closely translated to “coziness”) discovered Kim while she was transitioning out of a dark season of depression and anxiety. Hygge means so much to her because it continues to help her live in right place with her mental health.
Depression and anxiety still live with Kim, but her lows are not as low, bad days come much less often, and bounce back is so much better. Practicing a lifestyle of hygge helps her to slow down, think, and embrace where she is right now. Hygge calls Kim to seek margin. She desires space—to pause, think, rest, to be present. It’s not always come easy, because distraction and avoidance are easy, familiar friends!
