A huge shoutout to Brent Krug at The Figure Kit Garage YouTube channel! Brent was one of the ten folks who jumped on the pre-show list offer and scored Stella and Aurora! This is a very cool review and gives you an excellent peek at what you get when you purchase one of our bust kits. And make no mistake, these are kits (with ten parts for Stella alone). They are NOT one or two-piece static statues; you get to build them!

Stella is nearly sold out, but we do have a few left. There are also copies of Aurora and Daphne available. If you've ever wanted one of our kits, but couldn't find one anywhere, here is your chance!

Greetings from Louisville! It’s been a fun and hectic day so far, but I have to say that I’ve never experienced an Early Bird session like this one. My heart is full from all of the wonderful people that came to the booth, the entire Filmy team is here - well, except for Matt - and the vibe is unlike anything I’ve experienced in 20 years of coming to Wonderfest.

I’ll have more later, but here are a few fotos from the morning.

Okay kids, here is some news for folks who cannot go to Wonderfest:

Each year, many of you who can't make the show say things like, "I wish you would save some kits for those of us who can't go!"

Well, this message is for you.

Due to popular demand, we're holding back ten copies of each of the three new busts - Aurora, Stella, and Daphne. In fact, they won't even make the trip with me tomorrow - they will remain in Montgomery, safe and snug in Filmy's Workshop.

Now, it is really easy to complain that we are unfair to folks who cannot go to the show, and then say, "I'd buy one if you would!"

Just so you'll know, it is common knowledge among kit producers that fully HALF of the people who claim they want a kit will back out when we reach out to them for payment and shipping info.

So here is the deal - if anyone here is interested in obtaining a copy of the new busts, please comment in this thread AND send me a private message. Your name goes on the list in the order received. Please do NOT sign up if you are not ready to pay for your purchase when I get back from the show next week.

Each bust is $125 plus shipping, probably around $15, depending on your location. If you buy multiple busts, we will combine your purchases for a lower shipping cost.

Remember, only ten copies of each of the new busts will be available. They will sell out FAST during Early Bird, so if you really want one, I would suggest jumping on it right away!

Now, off to Wonderfest we go!

Ten years ago this weekend, we premiered one of the most popular kits ever - Pearl! To commemorate the occasion, we gave away more than a hundred hard plastic laminated backstage passes at our booth.

Hey kids! I hope you’re enjoying your Memorial Day weekend. Dont forget to pause for a few moments and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country

Our long-time fans and customers know that most requested retired kits in the Filmy’s Girls line are Nefertiti, Laguna, Pearl, Daphne’s Surprise, and Pebbles. We remolded and reissued Laguna once, Daphne twice, and Pearl twice.

We never reissued Nefertiti because she is the most complex, challenging, and expensive kit we’ve ever produced. Even though there is a tremendous demand for our breathtaking Nef, I have never seen a single buildup besides the artist proof that Jimmy Caps did for our display table. Last year was only the second time Nef has ever been seen in public.

Although I get to look at her every day, heh.

The other kit that is in super-high demand is our sweet Pebbles. Several have been built, notably David Fisher’ glorious interpretation of the original artist proof (which you can see in person in less than one week!), Crazy Joe Nejberger, Randy VanDyke, and most recently, Matt Mrozek’s stunning rendition, painted for Tony Baker.

The three copies of Pebbles that you see here are kit numbers 48,49, and 50, the last and final kits from the original fifty kit run.

If you are one of the folks who have clamored for a Pebbles kit but never had a chance to score a 100% all-original copy of one of Filmy’s most popular kits ever, here’s your chance!

Pebbles goes on sale at 0800 Saturday morning, May 31 at Wonderfest 2025, first come, first served!

A little peek behind the scenes here in Filmy’s Workshop. Finishing up Aurora kits for the show, and we will be grinding the rest of the weekend and all day Monday.

I REALLY want to wrap this up so that Tuesday is free for double checking everything for the booth and the trip, and for packing the van Tuesday night for our oh-dark-thirty departure Wednesday morning.

Hey kids, good morning! It's your old pal Filmy, here to reveal the entire catalog we'll have at our Wonderfest booth this year. I'm also posting fotos in case you've never seen any of these kits!

We will introduce three new bust kits at this year's show, and I DO mean kits! These beauties aren't just a torso and a base, but include multiple parts and require assembly and painting. These three will complete the collection of ten busts based on all of the first ten full-size Filmy's Girls kits we produced, and immortalized in Bill Hughes' spectacular comic book banner art.

We will also have a half dozen Charge! busts and six fresh copies of the gorgeous Pearl bust kit that sold out very quickly when she premiered at the 2022 show!

If you buy all three new girls - Stella, Aurora, and Daphne - together, you will receive the Show Special price of $50 off!

Last year, we only had a handful of Gabriella kits available at the show, and they sold out in minutes. We had about twenty Aurora 2.0 kits, and those were all gone in the first hour of Early Bird. The good news is that we will have at least a dozen Gabby kits available and another dozen Aurora kits available at 8:00 am on Saturday!

We also unlocked the vault earlier this month and found a few long-out-of-production classics! We have ONE Freya kit, ONE Judy, three Stellas, three Pearls, and - hold on to your hats - THREE copies of Pebbles, one of our most popular kits ever!

We *may* have a couple more surprises up our sleeves, but you'll have to stop by our booth to find out! (We're not very visible and kinda hard to find, but if you do a little sleuthing and ask around, you should be able to discover our location in the vendor room.)

Surprise! (See what I did there?) Daphne is the third bust that we will release at Wonderfest this year, and this super sweet 1/5 Filmy scale kit will mark the end of an era.

Long-time fans and loyal customers will remember the gorgeous comic book-style art that my dear friend Bill Hughes created for our giant banner for Wonderfest 2017. We had 24" posters printed (on a press!) on high-end stock, and Bill and I sat down one evening and signed 250 copies to give away at that year's show.

The art was a gigantic hit, and through the years, we have had each one of these beautiful girls sculpted, molded, and cast, and the entire line has been a roaring success.

Alas, all good things come to an end, and the three kits we are releasing this year will be the last of the comic book bust versions of Filmy's first ten lovely, sassy, adorable girls. We sincerely hope that you have enjoyed the dozens and dozens of paintups entered in the Amazing Figure Contest, the IPMS Nats, and in contests large and small throughout the United States and around the world.

It is no secret among the Filmy's Girls team that I have a soft spot for Daphne, and I have been overruled each time we released a new bust when I wanted to include her. It is poetic justice, I suppose, that my first ever space babe (and kit subject!) is the last of this line. Just look at that face! (I love her so . . .)

Anyway, each bust will sell for $125, BUT you can purchase all three together for a show special price of $325. That's a $50 discount!

But wait, there's more!

We will be sending the guys at Model Club TV a short video where we will announce a special thank you surprise for three lucky Early Bird customers at the show! We *might* even post a version of the video right here also, so stay tuned!

It seems that a certain spacefaring explorer with attitude has decided that it's HER turn to join the Filmy's Girls bust lineup! Our loyal fans know that Stella was the second of three space babes in the Filmy's kit lineup. Can you name all three? Do you happen to remember where all three girls met?

Based on Will Hughes' comic book art version of our first ten girls, this lovely girl is brought to life by Annya Shetinina's spectacular paint-up of Danielle Angelosi's groovy sculpt, complete with a super-cool base that features a four-part futuristic retro rocketship, planets, and a ray gun.

Be sure to get your copy on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 0800 at our booth smack-dab in the middle of the Wonderfest Dealer's Room!

Good morning, everyone! We'll have a tablefull of treats for our loyal fans and customers at Wondefest this year, and since the show is only three weeks away, I was wondering if it would be okay to start revealing what we are bringing?

I will tell you that we have not one, not two, but THREE new busts this year! First up is a certain female model builder, and she has one of her latest creations perched atop her lovely shoulder. This artist proof is painted by the incredibly talented Filmy's team member Annya Shetinina, and she knocked it out of the park, wouldn't you say?

Check out that awesome base with Filmy Paints in Daphne Purple, Freya Red, Stella Blue, Charge Green, and Nefertiti Gold! And yes, like all Filmy kits, our customers get little add-ons that no one else in the industry offers - for this stunningly beautiful kit, the labels for all five paint bottles are included!

Aurora 2025 will make her debut in Louisville, KY, during Early Bird on May 31 at 0800. Each of our new busts will be available individually, but we will have a big Show Special discount for fans who buy all three together!
