Today, I want to talk about another factor that plays a role in Savannah and Micah’s decision to grow their family through surrogacy. Savannah has scoliosis, which is a condition where the spine curves sideways. Pregnancy already puts a lot of strain on the spine, but having scoliosis can make that strain even greater. This is just another factor that lead them to choose surrogacy to grow their family.

This week is Infertility Awareness Week — a time to bring awareness to the millions of people struggling to start their families. Throughout this week I’ll be sharing more about infertility, surrogacy, and Savannah and Micah’s journey to become parents.
Today, I want to share why Savannah having Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), or brittle bone disease, would impact pregnancy for her. OI can make pregnancy more complicated because it affects bone strength, connective tissue, and sometimes the heart and lungs. Pregnancy can put a lot of physical stress on the body — especially the spine, ribs, and pelvis. Women with OI are at a higher risk of rib fractures, vertebral fractures, and pelvic fractures. This is just one of the factors that made them decide that surrogacy was the right path for them. .

Join us for the One Step Closer Virtual Walk for Savannah & Micah 💜
We’re inviting you to participate in a Virtual Walk to support Savannah and Micah on their journey to become parents through IVF and surrogacy. The event will be held on June 20th.

What is a Virtual Walk?
Instead of gathering in one location, participants can walk wherever they are. The goal is to come together in support, no matter where you live.

How to participate:
• Register with a $10 entry fee (all proceeds go toward their IVF and surrogacy costs)
• Walk wherever you are
• Walk any distance that feels right for you
• Share a photo or video from your walk and tag us so Savannah and Micah can see the support surrounding them. Use in your post.

More details to come on how to participate if you live locally.

If you are able to participate or share this event, it truly means the world to them.
Let’s show Savannah and Micah they’re not walking this journey alone. 💜

If you’ve been through IVF or surrogacy, what was the hardest part of the journey for you? Sharing experiences can help others feel less alone. 💛

This is something I think a lot of people can relate to if you’re on the journey of trying to start a family. The unknown can be really hard. For Savannah and Micah, the idea of purchasing baby items before they know what the outcome will be is nerve wracking.

One of the reasons Savannah and Micah are pursuing surrogacy is because the medication Savannah needs can increase the risk of pregnancy loss.
