How’s this for a fitness daily routine… let’s call this stealth fitness.
Upon waking take 5 minutes to breathe deeply, and stretch any way that feels good to your body. If you can bring yourself to make a sound during some of those breathes do it.
Every time you use the toilet spend and extra minute or so doing 10 good quality squats at least down to the toilet seat. By the end of the day I bet you’ve done between 60 - 100 squats.
If you to take baths, everytime you get out of the tub put both hands on the sides of the tub and extend your legs. Do 5-10 (or to failure) tricep presses before getting out of the tub. If you take long soaks, like I like to, that might give you 5 to 30 tricep presses, because you might get out of the tub more than once after you’ve gotten in. Hint, you can bend your knees if you need the legs to hold more body wait.
If you’re waiting in line at a store, choose an appropriately heavy item in your cart and do bicep curls with both arms. (Gallon of water or something) do as many reps as you have time for.
If you’re at a bus stop, lean against the bench with your hands and do pushups while you wait. Or do planks or do a bench burpees. Walk around the bus stop until the bus arrives.
During a short brake in your day take 15-20 minutes to move in some way, dance, walk, bike, do jumping jacks, run, do step touches, squat jumps, go up & down stairs or god forbid burpees… whatever floats your boat and change it up.
Before bed take another 5 minutes to breathe deeply and stretch in anyway that feels good to you.
By the end of the day, you’ve taken probably at least 30 minutes or more to do things that help strengthen your body, calm your nervous system and help boost your serotonin and dopamine levels to improve your mood. and, you did it without having to carve out extra time to make a special trip. Now, I’m not saying, don’t go to fitness classes or a gym, because you can make much more progress by doing that. This however, will keep you moving and do do it in an easy way that you can do when you’re schedule doesn’t allow for that extra time in the gym.g d
