Why is sleep important to building muscle. If your not getting enough sleep your body won’t grow, during deep sleep your body goes into recovery mode this is when growth hormone is released in its highest amount. Not all calories are the same if you want to lose weight and gain muscle with strength training. If you have a slice of pizza you’re looking at .05oz of protein,325 calories with 13 grams of fat. Now if you went with 4oz chicken breast which packs 31 grams of protein 187 calories 4 grams of fat. Now let’s factor in the fact that you also burn more calories with protein because it requires more energy to absorb and process proteins, in addition protein also helps sub due the hormone ghrelin which stimulates your appetite so you will be more full and have less of appetite.

Let’s talk about Tut(time under tension)during weight lifting set or body weight excercise you will deliberately slow down the eccentric the lowering of phase of a rep lengthening of muscle and concentric the lifting phase of rep the shortening of muscle contraction.By slowing down the tempo on your excercises you will increase muscle fiber engagement and, this can improve your muscle growth and improve muscular endurance. But don’t forget your protein intake which is just as important, you should consume .08 grams of protein per lb if your body weight.

Want to lose weight, start with low intensity cardio walking,biking,rowing and swimming 120- 150 minutes per week. Resistance training muscle burns fat 24/7,avoid processed foods, alcohol and sugary drinks. Stay in calorie deficit of 500 calories per day for about 6-12 weeks( your weight x 12 will give you roughly your calories needed for weight maintained.
