Top 5 Reasons Caregivers Should Journal ✍️

1️⃣ It gives you permission to pause.
Even 10 minutes of writing can help quiet the chaos in your mind.

2️⃣ It preserves the story.
The hard moments, the funny moments, the things your loved one says that you never want to forget.

3️⃣ Writing creates clarity.
Sometimes seeing your thoughts on paper helps you make difficult caregiving decisions.

4️⃣ Celebrate the small wins.
A peaceful shower. A good doctor’s appointment. One calm afternoon. Those victories matter.

5️⃣ It keeps meaningful moments alive.
Prayers, songs, memories, and words of comfort deserve to be remembered.

Caregiving is heavy. You do not have to carry every thought alone. 🤍

How do you know WHEN that transition needs to be made? Although it is a very personal decision and everyone living with dementia is different, there are some blanket reasons to make the move.

Sometimes my GrandDog has to remind me to get out and smell the flowers 🌺 , enjoy the sunshine ☀️ and ground myself!

Caregivers! Get up and give yourself permission to spend some time outside!! Take your loved one with you!!

We spend way too much time inside stuck on screens these days.

One of the most emotional and difficult decisions in dementia care is determining the time to place a loved one in a secured unit. This decision is made out of love and for the safety of your person. But, it doesn't make it any easier.
