Deep Healing.

Lasting Freedom. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based therapy that reprograms how the brain stores distressing memories and imagery, so they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. ART is a short duration treatment conducted in standalone sessions making it convenient and cost-effective for individuals to attain improved overall mental health. ART does not r

equire ongoing therapy sessions, homework or forced behavior change. Life improvement occurs naturally after the distressing memory, images or self-talk is resolved. Often people report feeling remarkable relief immediately following their first session. Many people only need one session, but some studies show optimal benefit after an average of 3-5 sessions. People sustain the life improvement gained through ART; multiple research studies showed participants in ART demonstrated continued significant improvements even in 2 and 3 month follow-ups. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is officially recognized by The National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP) as an evidence-based practice. Several research studies have demonstrated that with only a few sessions, ART is an effective treatment for the following (www.samhsa.gov):

• Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD)
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Phobias
• Grief
• Addiction/Substance Abuse
• Improving personal resilience

ART has also shown to provide remarkable benefits to variety of presenting issues such as (www.acceleratedresolutiontherapy.com):

• Trauma related to abuse (including emotional, physical and sexual abuse)
• Birth trauma
• Trauma related to injury, car accident or medical experience
• Poor self-image / Toxic self-talk
• Family issues
• Relationship issues / Infidelity
• Codependence
• Stress
• OCD
• Panic attacks / Issues with fear
• Grief and loss
• Guilt
• Sleep issues / Nightmares
• Anger
• Personality disorders
• Memory enhancement
• Hypervigilance
• Pain management
• Various psychiatric conditions
• Antisocial behaviors
• Combat-related posttraumatic stress

ART combines well established techniques from several traditional forms of psychotherapy including the rapid eye movements similar to EMDR, Gestalt techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, relaxation skills training, and Narrative Therapy. But unlike other therapies, ART reliably produces a significantly faster and lasting recovery without prolonged distress during or between sessions. ART is able to deliver rapid lasting results through the use of eye movements, similar to the eye movements that occur naturally while dreaming that facilitate healing. ART is NOT related to hypnosis; a client is always in control and fully aware during the entire ART session, with the therapist only guiding the process. ART is unique, that it is not a traditional talk therapy; a client can choose to not share their trauma or difficult life experiences with the therapist, and it will not impact the effectiveness of their recovery. This makes ART an ideal choice for people who prefer their lives to remain private or struggle to put their experiences into words. After a session people report feeling relieved, empowered, a clearer perspective, better able to manage their stress, more confident to face their triggers and overall positive emotions.

Throughout Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), you choose where it’s best to start, the speed of the treatment, and what is best for you.

The eye movements used in ART are nothing like hypnosis. As the client, you are always fully aware and talking normally throughout the session. Eye movements are utilized to engage both sides of the brain to enable deep lasting healing. The therapist acts as a guide to facilitate healing, but you are always seen as the expert.

Another way ART is unique is that vulnerable retelling of past experiences are not required for healing to happen. ART is also effective, even if you don’t fully remember or know what contributed to the anxiety or stress you are experiencing.

Many people:
• Struggle to put traumatic experiences into words
• Don’t want to relive painful memories out loud
• Value their privacy
• Don’t recall what contributed to their triggers or current stress

With ART, you remain fully in control of what you choose to share. Because it is a process-based therapy, healing happens without needing to retell or recall every single detail of your story.

For many, this approach creates a profound sense of safety, empowerment, and relief. ART provides support that respects both your healing and your preferences.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based therapy that helps you find relief from past hurts and stuck patterns quickly, often beginning in the first session.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, ART focuses on resolving distress during the session itself, so clients typically leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more grounded. People love ART because it's fast, effective, and keeps distress to a minimum both during and between sessions.

What many people love about ART:
• Many begin feeling some relief from the 1st session
• Most make progress towards their goals in 3-6 sessions
• No homework between sessions
• No painful retelling of experiences
• No lingering emotional distress between sessions
• Sessions are structured, effective, and focused
• Progress is maintained

ART works by helping the brain process and replace distressing images, sensations, and emotional responses connected to trauma, anxiety, grief, or negative self-beliefs.

Healing doesn’t have to take years. Visit our website to learn how ART can help you reach your goals, typically much sooner than expected:

If you’ve been looking for a mental health treatment that offers deep healing and relief without years of talking through the past, ART may be a good fit.

- Evidence-Based: ART is backed by research and proven to be a reliably effective treatment for trauma, anxiety, and performance blocks.

- The Best of Traditional Therapy: It combines well-established techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt techniques, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and relaxation training to help your brain re-process trauma without needing to relive the distress over and over.

-Bilateral Eye Movements: Similar to EMDR, ART uses rapid eye movements to help change how traumatic memories are stored in the brain.
Unlike other traditional talk therapy, ART reliably produces significantly faster, lasting relief without prolonged distress during or between your sessions.

It is a gentle, positive experience where the majority of people are able to make significant progress towards their therapeutic goals in 3-6 sessions.

Understanding Trauma Part 3 of 3

What looks like perfectionism or overworking is often a nervous system that has spent a long time in survival mode. Although these strategies may function for a season, the mind cannot remain in overdrive for an extended period and remain healthy. The things we do to compensate for hurt we experienced will eventually become destructive if we don’t truly heal.

Healing often involves learning that your value does not disappear when you are no longer producing or performing. Recognizing these patterns that continually lead to exhaustion and identifying distorted views of self-worth are necessary steps to beginning your healing journey.

With trauma-informed therapy, people are able to break free from these patterns and integrate a new healthy narrative based on WHO they are, not WHAT they do. With a more accurate self-view that is not influenced by past hurt, people are able to respond with clarity, feel more balanced and live free from the unseen fears that previously influenced them.

Understanding Trauma Part 2 of 3

Some people learned very early that being emotionally easy, capable, or successful helped them stay connected or safe. These survival strategies may have manifested to lighten the family system, preserve stripped emotional resources, or to “not be a problem.”

What people praise externally may still come from a nervous system carrying chronic stress internally. However, these patterns that once protected you can also become exhausting over time when they are formed out of a place of pain and self-preservation.

Awareness and understanding your responses with compassion is often the first step towards healing.

Understanding Trauma Part 1 of 3
One reason trauma can go unnoticed for years is because not all trauma responses look disruptive or emotional. Carrying unresolved trauma can look like someone who seems completely fine and successful.

Sometimes residual trauma responses look responsible and high-achieving. Sometimes trauma responses are praised and feel initially helpful. Over-performing can become a coping strategy that covers something painful.

If you see yourself in these patterns, asking yourself why you feel continually compelled to these responses that leave you feeling drained and disconnected is a good place to start. Follow along this week for the rest of the posts to learn more.
