This morning marked the beginning of our 5th year of having school-based vision clinic services available to Little Rock School District students and their siblings! We saw 8 students this morning and all 8 needed glasses! 👁👓👀🤩🤓
The Chicot Vision Clinic is currently the only school-based clinic with optometry services in all of central Arkansas! We can see LRSD students who have not had an eye exam in the last year, have Medicaid, AR Kids, or no insurance. No private vision insurance accepted at this time. There is no out of pocket cost to the parent/guardian. Thanks to a partnership with local optometrist and owner of River Mountain Eyecare, Dr. Arnold, students receive a comprehensive eye exam. If they need glasses, students go directly to see the clinic manager to select their favorite frames- there are many sample frames to choose from to help students feel confident and ready to learn! Glasses are ordered from the clinic, take 2-3 weeks to arrive, and are then delivered to the student's school. Vision clinic takes place every Wednesday morning from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm by appointment only. Parents of LRSD students can call 501-447-7070 to schedule an appointment or scan the appointment request QR code.
