Volunteering is better with your mom đź©·

Jeri and Lauren are a mother-daughter duo from our La Comida Guild Home Tour who have a long legacy of service to our Valley Children's community. Jeri joined La Comida Guild in 1978 after seeing her mother volunteer, and Lauren then proudly followed in her mom's footsteps and joined the Guild in 2007. Both women love volunteering side-by-side and take immense pride in sharing a passion for helping us honor the mission of our founding mothers to provide the best healthcare to kids across the Valley. In this photo, Jeri (left) and Lauren (right), are preparing for La Comida Guild's annual Holiday Home Tour.

This Mother's Day, we are proud to recognize their story and show how one act of service can ripple through generations 🦒 To learn more about our The Guilds of Valley Children's and their impact, visit https://www.valleychildrens.org/support/guilds

Supported by the Guilds Pink Pig Fund, the “Care in Every Curl” initiative provides hair care bags with essentials especially designed for patients with curly and textured hair, ensuring they feel seen, supported and cared for.

“We want to make sure that everyone has what they need to feel good while they are in the hospital,” said Brittany Meyer, an acute care manager at Valley Children’s. “This is a small way to help with that.”

The Guilds Pink Pig Fund helps make programs like this possible, continuing its long-standing commitment to directly supporting patients and families while at the Hospital.

Valley Children’s is home to so many incredible patient stories — including Diane’s.
