As we wrap up the summer, it is a good time to focus on recent developments in the labor and employment law landscape that employers need to know and/or watch. The DOL’s overtime rule appears to be back (albeit in modified form), the NLRB has several potential game-changing actions on the horizon, and federal courts and the EEOC have been active on the employment discrimination front.

The 4th Annual HR Assn of Southern IN/Northern KY Conference, "What's Hot! HR Legal Topics on the Horizon with Nathan Baker" will be on September 12. Join us to find out what you need to know in 2019. Registration will open soon!

Our presenter, Nathan A. Baker, partner at Barnes & Thornburg was named one of the Best Lawyers in 2018. He is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Law Department in Indianapolis. He has represented clients in a wide variety of industries and professional sectors including but not limited to manufacturing, automotive, financial and banking, retail, utilities, medical, as well as foreign clients with U.S. facilities. Locally, interested people can contact Kirk Kuhn at WorkOne Southeast/River Valley Resources. Kirk’s role is to help any employer in Region 9 write grant applications and engage training providers.

Just a few pictures from our May meeting where this opportunity was presented. Thanks, Jeff Halcomb and Kurt Kuhn! Also, thanks to ResourceMFG for the breakfast.
