Yoga may help relieve low-back pain and neck pain, headache, arthritis, and fibromyalgia although the amount and quality of evidence varies for each condition. According to a national survey, the percentage of U.S. adults who practiced yoga increased from 5.0 percent in 2002 to 15.8 percent in 2022. Although most of the adults surveyed who practiced yoga reported doing so for wellness-related reasons, many said they practiced yoga to treat a specific health condition, including pain.

Activate with intention into the layers of your being and embody your innate strength.

Practice Slow Flow Vinyasa.

Offered at a slower pace, this sequence builds with repetition and peak postures in mind. Preparatory movements are explored and clear cues are given during the vinyasa sequence. The peak poses inform the intentional movements and progression. Class ends with a relaxing and meditative savasana.

Practicing Somatics definitely made me feel stronger, but not by using exercises you'd think of for strength 🤯 I was surprised!

I didn't lift a single weight.

Intentional, slow movements helped me deeply connect to my muscles. Adding the movements described in this article can be super helpful, or reach out for personalized support.

Working out doesn’t have to mean breaking a sweat.

Part II of our Yoga Philosophy study starts Sunday, Feb 18th. Meet for 5-Weeks online with a compassion group who create and hold space around self-inquiry and practice. 💗 This is a mind-study group, meaning we don't do much physical asana or movement practice. However, registration comes with 2 free online classes - so there is opportunity to connect deeper with your body.

Message me with questions!

The second limb of Yoga, the Niyamas (purity, contentment, self-discipline, self-study, and surrender) are the primary topic of conversation, along with sweet Winter wellness practices from the wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda. We read one chapter a week in Deborah Adele's book, The Yamas and Niyamas, engage in group discussion, share personal reflections, and work with the inquiries in the book.

Join Gogebic Yoga and me, as we host our 4th year of this online book study group! This connection time brings so much warmth in the Winter months. 💝
