Captured on an Indian highway, two elephants shared a poignant moment as they reached out to touch trunks, marking their final connection before being separated for a lifetime of human service.

In this fleeting image, their silent communication—expressed through the gentle touch of their trunks—speaks volumes about their bond, one we may never fully comprehend. A brief but tender moment before their paths forever diverge.

Elephants, often seen as magnificent creatures for entertainment or labor, are far more than that. In the wild, they form deep family bonds that can last over 50 years.

They mourn the loss of loved ones, they remember, and they feel deeply. This image forces us to reflect: Is our desire for entertainment worth breaking these natural connections that were meant to endure?

Ramsey Anzick, middle, is representing Montana Junior High in various pageants. These pageants aren't all about poise and beauty but also service to the community. Ramsey keeps a basket filled with snacks--including chocolate!--for the volunteers and those there every day. The basket is also refilled after those of us there raid it. Pictured with Ransey are Brenda Hoppe, volunteer, and Anne Sundquist, director.

So many people have shared many kind words of gratitude for the clinic and brought items to thank us. One lady bought five giant pizzas for the volunteers/nursing students/staff after receiving her vaccine. We have been given candy several times, cookies--from Girl Scout to gourmet--cards, and I could go on. We are grateful for all, but the words of thanks and, "Now I can go visit my dad" or "We're going to get to see our grandkids very soon" or the ones with tears in their eyes--old and young. It's worth it.

This great group of nursing students from Tomball College have made this clinic possible. These 8 students represent the large number that have worked the clinic, and the clinic has made it possible for them to receive their hours in a medical setting--something that was next to impossible during the pandemic. Not only are they doing an outstanding job, but they are great to work with each time they come. Now we also have some of the nursing students from the North Harris campus. Thanks, students!

Owner/President Steve Hoffart of Magnolia Pharmacy wanted to create a pleasant, safe environment for people to receive vaccines, and he did just that. The clinic wouldn't be complete without the many volunteers who have stepped in to help with the flow of the people throughout the day. Pictured are some of the Methodist women who have consistently been available--along with some of the men but not pictured--along with others who wanted to serve those coming in. Marcy Parker, third from left has been instrumental in scheduling those volunteers.

Magnolia Pharmacy Covid Vaccine Clinic started giving second doses of the Moderna Covid Vaccine today to community members that received their initial vaccine four weeks ago at Magnolia Pharmacy. If you received an initial dose at Magnolia Pharmacy, please check your email for a message regarding your second dose.

At this time, we have not received any additional "first-dose" vaccines. As soon as we begin to receive additional vaccines, we will notify the community via our social media pages.

If you would like to help out by volunteering with us at our vaccine clinic, please join the following Facebook group to receive volunteer updates: Magnolia Pharmacy Covid Vaccine Clinic Volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, there is a form in the group where you can input your information. We need both medical and non-medical volunteers. Volunteering is currently on hold due to no initial doses being available, but we will need volunteers in full force to help run the clinic smoothly as soon as we do. Joining the above FB group and filling out the volunteer form in the group is the best way to receive updates on volunteer efforts and participation at the clinic.
