January isn’t asking us to fix anything.

It’s asking us to slow down.

Sometimes that looks like a quiet morning with a warm mug in your hands.

Sometimes it’s taking a pause at the end of the day and enjoying a few really good bites.

Sometimes it’s making sure you and your family are fed well — even when life feels full or you’re away from home.

None of it has to be dramatic.
None of it has to be perfect.

Sometimes slowing down looks like that.
Not changing everything.
Just choosing something that feels a little more supportive.

That’s enough.
You’re okay right where you are. 🧇♥️

I didn’t walk into the gym chasing a number on the scale.

I walked in because I wanted to trust my body again.
I wanted to feel capable.

Not fragile.
Not like I was always trying to fix myself.

Somewhere along the way, strength stopped being about how I looked
and started being about how I felt.

Strong felt safer than small.

And once I felt that shift, there was no going back.

A good snow day for me
is one where I don’t have to put on snow boots, gloves, or step even one foot outside into cold, wet snow.

No ma’am.

I’m that mom who stays inside the warm house, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket, hot coffee in hand, watching the snow fall from the window.

And since we’re talking cozy and warm…
coffee is always better with a hot waffle.

Nothing fancy.
Just a waffle fresh out of the toaster.
Warm, simple, comforting.

My favorite is the OG sweet potato waffle, spread with almond butter.
I swear I can smell it just thinking about it.

So if you’re expecting a snowstorm this weekend,
bundle your kids up and send them outside.

Pour yourself another cup of coffee.
Then go ahead and stand by the window for a minute.
And enjoy the slow part of the day.

Food has held so many roles in my life.

Comfort when things felt heavy.
Connection around the table.
Joy in the small, ordinary moments.

For a long time, it also felt complicated — especially after becoming a mom. I wanted food to feel good again… not just nutritionally, but emotionally too.

This carousel is a glimpse into how my waffles came to be.
Not from a business idea.
Not from a trend.
But from curiosity, care, and a deep desire to make food feel supportive instead of stressful.

I shared the full version — the heart behind the waffles — on my website.

In one way, 2016 feels really far away.

But looking back at these old posts from 2016 brings everything full circle.
Back then, I cooked real food.
I packed meals.
I tried to do what felt right.

Somewhere along the way, I realized that taking care of myself mattered too.
Not in a big, dramatic way.
Just in the everyday choices.

It was coffee in quiet moments.
Sneakers on. Getting outside when I could.
Making sure there was always something warm and real on the table.

I didn’t know I was building anything back then.
I was just showing up the best way I knew how —
for my people, and for myself.

Looking at these photos now, I can see it more clearly.
Some things don’t start as plans.

They start as habits you come back to again and again.

I love when my customers have those little “aha” moments.

One of my newest Waffle of the Month Club members sent me this text after signing up for the 6-month option — he actually broke down the cost per waffle on his own.

What he realized?
Because the waffles are so filling, he usually eats ½ at a time…
which comes out to $2.83 per day for breakfast.

And that’s one of those moments where the math just clicks.
real ingredients + whole food = value that actually makes sense

Thanks for doing the math,

Look, I’ve eaten Eggo waffles before.
And yes, even yours truly has had them in the freezer to keep on hand for quick snacks or to feed my kids for breakfast.

BUT they were never something I really enjoyed eating because they were so bland.
And slathering them in syrup was a must when eating them.

So when I had another mom tell me yesterday that she too likes to have breakfast for dinner, and Eggo waffles are a staple for her, I could definitely relate to that.

She went on to say that she hates it though, because she has to drown them in spray butter and syrup.
And by the way, did I think she she would have to do that with the waffles that I make?

It felt so good to honestly answer her with a strong “NO”.

I was able to tell her that because my waffles are already bursting with flavor. The batter is intentionally made with fresh, pureed sweet potato and then real maple syrup as the sweetener.

So yes, go ahead and add butter and maple syrup if you want to.
But will you NEED to?
Absolutely not.

If you are tired of settling for boring, boxed waffles that have no flavor or personality,
I invite you to try the complete opposite.
Because once you try them, you won’t be able to go back to the other side!

If you are ready to trade in your boring boxed waffles, head to my link to taste the difference today.
