Hiring EMTs & Paramedics - Resumes will be collected for 5-days prior to reaching out to any potential candidate.
NIM Medical / SoDak is hiring EMTs and paramedics that provide staffing support to the Cheyenne River Health System and IHS Ambulance (Eagle Butte, South Dakota). These teams work in extremely rural / austere environments supporting the existing full time HIS staff and infrastructure. The community we help support is uniquely impoverished with a high public health need and very little resources.
EMTs and Paramedics should be prepared to work in unconventional ambulance environments with an extremely high level of patience and adaptability. EMT’s and Paramedics should also be prepared to provide care for long durations (up to several hours in an ambulance), be comfortable operating independently, and critically thinking in an autonomous capacity. This requires our EMTs & Paramedics to be confident, physically fit, and highly adaptable.
Staff are hired as either PRN (as needed) or full-time employees with typical annual W2, worker’s comp, and bi-weekly payroll. Full-time employees are also eligible for health benefits. Typical rotations are typically at least 1 week (working 12hour shifts each day) up to 3 weeks. Full time rotations are often 1/1, 2/2, or 3/3 weeks on and off. Lodging is provided while on-site. Travel costs to and from site are NOT covered.
Call volume is typical 3-8 calls per 12hr shift with a high mixture of BLS, ALS, and critical care acuity. While not engaging in 911 or IFT, staff have the opportunity to work and assist in the Emergency Room with physician staff.
