I want to take a moment to address some recent news regarding optometric licensure in Kentucky.

It has been publicly announced that the Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners granted licenses to certain individuals who did not meet the full requirements typically necessary to practice optometry in our state. Understandably, this has raised concerns and questions within our communities.

I want to be very clear and transparent with my patients:

✅ I have completed all required education, clinical training, and have graduated from an accredited College of Optometry.
✅ I have passed all parts of the Optometry National Board Exams
✅ I am fully and properly licensed to practice optometry in the state of Kentucky

Most importantly, patient safety, ethical care, and clinical excellence are my top priorities. Every patient deserves care that meets the highest professional standards, and I remain fully committed to providing thorough, evidence-based eye care to our community.

I believe patients have the right to be informed and confident in the care they receive. If you ever have questions about my training, credentials, or the care we provide, I am always happy to have that conversation.

Attention to all of our patients!! Please follow us closely here on Facebook. We will provide office hour updates here based on severity of the incoming snow storm for tomorrow, Friday 12/12/25.

Plan A: office will open at normal hours (8:30am)
Plan B: office will have delayed opening (~10:00am)
Plan C: office will be closed for inclement weather

The safety of our patients and staff is our highest priority. We will provide an update as soon as we determine the severity of the snows effect on road ways. Thank you!

❄NEW CALL FOR SNOWFALL ❄ I have no real changes to the overall forecast as a winter storm moves in this evening and takes us into the first half of Friday. This system will drop a general 2"-5" of snow in a northwest to southeast corridor. Smaller amounts will appear just to the south of that area with a sharp cutoff to the accumulating snow.

Updates will come your way throughout the day, so keep checking back. We will also have full team coverage on WKYT-TV starting at 4pm today.
