We provide advocacy for our program participants in accessing community resources and the opportunity to do community services and volunteer. IW team collaborates with the Sih Hasin Street Medicine program to provide street outreach for our homeless relatives. We’re so excited that Brandon will be back for another season of FREE workshops in the pantry garden! It all starts Wednesday 5/6 at 4pm 🌱

INDIGENOUS FOODWAYS: IN THE GARDEN
with Brandon Francis, Diné scientist, corn planter, culture bearer

Join us in downtown Cortez, CO for a free gathering in the Good Sam Food Pantry Garden. Brandon Francis will teach us about blue corn seeds, how to plant them and how relate to them as they grow. We will learn through hands-on activities, science, humor and story-sharing of histories, relationships, language and reciprocity.

You will have a chance to ask questions, explore the garden, enjoy free food and drinks, and choose seeds and plants to take home, all while becoming part of the effort to reclaim a parking lot for the sake of kinship and community tood sovereignty.
