🧣This morning, as I made my way through the snow to teach SPARTA Strength, I spotted Mary—98 years young—across the street.❄️

I offered to be her personal valet, helping her navigate the snow and ice to the Malden Senior Center. She wasted no time—hopped right into class and brightened the room.😅

She’s a true inspiration. 💪🏾

🚨End Homelessness. I Need Your Support.

👟On February 8th, I’m returning to the Boston Common for the 10th annual Winter Walk. Alongside others, I’ll be walking 2 miles to support Boston-based organizations providing critical care and housing for our unhoused neighbors. My goal is modest—just $100—but every dollar goes directly to the frontline of the homelessness crisis.

How you can help:
💰 Donate: Link in to my fundraising page here 🔗 https://haku.ly/db7800b19b
🔄 Boost: If you can’t donate, a like or a share helps this reach more people!

💯Our collective efforts will make a positive difference.

18 inches of snow vs. one iced coffee. 🧊☕️

⛄️Malden is currently a winter wonderland (or a workout facility, depending on how you look at it). I was out early this morning—before the sun came up—got my iced coffee chilling in a snowbank and got to work.😅

🪏Steps and sidewalks are clear, and I finished digging out the fire hydrant. 🚒Seconds count in an emergency, so please check the one near your house if you can!

Stay safe out there today, keep an eye on your neighbors, and take it slow! 🧣🧤

Snow Emergency vs. Community Care: The Donut Run 🍩❄️

🗣️This morning, I saw a call from the Malden Warming Center: they needed someone to pick up donuts from Honey Dew for our guests. So I bundled up, shoveled out, and made the delivery.

⚠️We’re in a snow emergency, with freezing temps across the region. The Center is staying open all day to ensure our guests have safe shelter, warmth, and care.

🙏🏽 I’m deeply grateful to the volunteers at the Malden Warming Center—and at shelters across the region—who show up with compassion and consistency.

📣 Support your local nonprofits. Their work is only possible with community partners, donors, and volunteers. Every bit counts.

🗣️“I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides.” — Elie Wiesel, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Holocaust survivor

I’m beyond saddened by what’s unfolding in Minneapolis—my community and our country. My deepest condolences go out to the family, colleagues, and friends of Alex Pretti. As an ICU nurse at the VA, he dedicated his life to healing and serving those who served our nation. His loss is a profound tragedy for our community.

➡️ The normalization of dismissing the loss of human life—and the dehumanization fueled by disinformation, policy, or ideology—is dangerous and unpatriotic. It stands in stark opposition to the values this nation claims to uphold.

🎯If your personal beliefs reject the evidence of your eyes and ears—if they deny objective truth— that is not neutrality. It is choosing comfort and loyalty to power over truth and humanity.

✨ I am inspired by and grateful for all—from the Civil Rights Movement to the present—who exercise our constitutional right to peaceful protest and engage in civil discourse, fighting for civil liberties, social justice, and voting rights.

📣Speaking out takes courage. And courage is contagious.

🗳️Lastly, our most powerful tool remains the vote. Register to vote, and vote in every election—local and national.

🇺🇸 Be the change.

📣🇺🇸 A message to Americans from an American:

🗣️I’m a humanitarian volunteer who has made multiple trips to Ukraine since 2022—serving from Przemyśl to Lviv, Odesa, Kyiv, Kherson, and Kharkiv. I have seen the reality of this war firsthand.

🚨Russia is weaponizing winter—deliberately targeting Ukraine’s power grid in freezing temperatures. These are not “military targets.” They are hospitals, homes, and heating stations. Lifelines for doctors, farmers, and families.

👉🏽Every day, civilians—people with disabilities, children, elders—are under fire from drones, missiles, and artillery. The occupiers do not discriminate.

My heart is with those mourning loved ones and those enduring the unimaginable.

🚨Disinformation is another front in this war. Too often, mainstream media distorts or omits the truth about Ukraine’s fight for survival.

Here’s a truth that must be repeated:

🎯 If Russia stops fighting, the war ends. If Ukraine stops fighting, there is no Ukraine.

🇺🇦 Ukrainians are not just defending their homeland—they are standing on the front lines of a global struggle for freedom, sovereignty, and democracy.

☎️✍🏽 If you live in the U.S., EU, or any allied nation: call, write, tag your representatives. Demand continued support for air defense. Demand the lifting of restrictions that hinder Ukraine’s ability to defend itself.

Solidarity is a verb. Let’s act.

📽️ MLK Jr’s Audacity to Believe🗽

🗣️Earlier today, I shared a reflection on Dr. King’s legacy and the urgent need for economic justice, service, and the vote. Now, I’m sharing a short video that brings that message to life.

📌From food insecurity to systemic inequities, the fight for dignity and equity continues.

Let’s honor the legacy not just in words—but through action. 🇺🇸

📣 MLK Day and Economic Justice

🗣️ “I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits.”
—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., 1964 Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Speech

🚨Dr. King understood the direct connection between systemic inequities—including racism—and food insecurity.

👉🏽We see this reality today as funding cuts disproportionately harm Black, Brown, and immigrant communities, as well as rural America.

🕊️ Dr. King and countless courageous activists—both known and unsung—peacefully fought for justice, equality, and human rights.

📌Their legacy is not just a memory; it is a blueprint.

🎯We must translate that blueprint into peaceful civic action—in our communities, our workplaces, and our local governments.

➡️ Let’s honor Dr. King’s legacy not just in words—but through action.

▪️Fight Hunger & Poverty: Support local food banks and small non-profits
▪️ Engage in peaceful, constructive dialogue—even when it’s uncomfortable
▪️ Volunteer your time to uplift community initiatives that address inequality and economic justice

🗽And let us not forget our most powerful peaceful tool for change: the vote.

🗳️ Vote in local and national elections
🇺🇸 Be the change

☮️ Our collective effort will make a difference—not just for today, but for the generations to come.
