🌟 Botox while nursing? Is it safe? 🌟

Current research shows that the chance of Botox getting into your breast milk and affecting your little one is super low! 💉✨ Most of it stays right at the injection site and doesn’t spread throughout your body.

Some studies found tiny amounts in breast milk, but they’re way below any harmful levels. While experts recommend waiting a few hours after your injection before breastfeeding just to be extra safe, you don’t need to pump and dump! 🙌

Always chat with your doctor to weigh the pros and cons based on your situation. And if your baby shows any unusual symptoms, like being extra sleepy or having trouble swallowing, seek medical help right away! 🩺💕

This is Kim. She is a grandma who accompanied her daughter and grandson to an appointment today. As soon as she walked in, I felt a spark of familiarity. A few minutes into our appointment it clicked. I unexpectedly burst into tears.

Kim was my son’s nurse and the first person to offer me kindness and understanding when trying desperately to feed him while he was covered in leads, hooked up to machines, and with an ng tube placed in the level III NICU at Jersey Shore. I was trying to latch him. He was screaming. I couldn’t get it. He couldn’t get it. The neonatologist told me if I couldn’t feed him we would have to start supplementation as he was on heavy antibiotics was already receiving fluids but he needed to eat. After a very long labor and a traumatic surgical birth, then inability to feed him for the first 24 hours of life, we were down to the wire and I still couldn’t do it. I felt like a complete failure as a mother.

She got down on my level and looked me in the eyes and said ‘Do you want to feed this baby?’ I sobbed and nodded and she said ‘OK then that’s what we’re going to do.’ She put her hands over my hands and with her gentle guidance we finally got it. It was a moment I will never forget and it changed the trajectory of my whole life.

Without her help that day, I don’t know if I would have ever breastfed my son. Which led to a sharp turn in my career path and the eventual opening of this practice where along with my business partner, Laura, we have gone on to assist thousands of families to feed their babies. For those I have been honored to help, know that I once stood where you are or have been.

This incredible woman changed my life forever. And 17 years later I have been given the opportunity to thank her while helping her baby feed her grand baby.

A full circle day 💙🌟

This is Stephanie’s breast pump. Stephanie triple fed and later exclusively pumped for her first child for TEN MONTHS and has been triple feeding (3 weeks!) and exclusively pumping for her second child for the past 7 weeks. And this time with a toddler in the mix 😮‍💨💪

🌟1510 hours🌟

If that’s not dedication and pure love we don’t know what is 👸🏼

When we saw this incredible number we decided to check the vacuum on the old girl with our pump gauge and realized the vacuum just wasn’t what it used to be. So Steph was provided with a gently used newer pump with an optimal vacuum that had been generously donated to us by another family 💗

Moms are amazing 🤩

🌟 Meet Hunter! 🌟

When Hunter’s mom reached out, she was facing a challenge: her little one was refusing bottles just as she was preparing to head back to work. Hunter had taken a bottle with ease as a newborn but as the return-to-work date loomed, he started to refuse completely. Just the sight of a bottle would send him into tears! 😢

Over the course of four weeks and four sessions, we worked together. While we managed to get him to suck on a bottle for a few minutes during our very first meeting, oral motor issues made it hard for him to maintain a latch. After addressing a tongue tie (thanks ) and focusing on habilitation, Hunter finally regained the functional ability to create a vacuum and sustain a latch on a bottle. But he still had other plans and wanted nothing more than his mommy! 💖

This was understandably stressful for Lauren, as she couldn’t leave him for long periods, let alone for a full workday with his grandparents. We had to think outside the box with some unconventional strategies. Eventually they worked and Hunter started taking bottles! 🍼✨

Now, mom is back at work, and everyone is thriving! I’m so proud of both of them for their determination and willingness to try out of the box approaches. You made me sweat kiddo but you’ve got this now! 🎉💪 🍼

Meet Mimi Goldberg, BA, CBS, and Clinical Lactation Intern! She is the newest addition to our team and we are SO happy to have her. After they have completed all of their didactic education (45 college level health + science credits) and 90 hours of specific lactation education, IBCLC candidates are then eligible to begin a clinical rotation of 500 hours under clinically advanced IBCLC Mentors. Interns start out shadowing and slowly work their way to charting, writing SOAP notes, then getting more hands on in consults until towards the last few hours of their internship when they are doing the consults all by themselves! This happens over the course of at least 500 hours. Once they have completed their clinical hours and mastered their clinical competencies, candidates are eligible to apply for and sit the rigorous IBCLC Board Examination. Mimi is eager to learn and eats up every opportunity to further her knowledge of all things lactation and infant feeding.

Hello! I’m Mimi Goldberg, an intern at Lucky Baby Lactation + Infant Feeding, and I am excited to share my passion for breastfeeding and maternal support with this community. As a mother of two young children, I have had the rewarding experience of breastfeeding both my son and daughter. Each journey was distinct, bringing its own set of joys and challenges. I found that breastfeeding not only provided essential nourishment for my children but also fostered a deep, meaningful bond that I hadn’t anticipated. The support and knowledge I received during this time were invaluable, and I am eager to assist other families in having positive breastfeeding experiences.
