Jessica Croker started practicing yoga in 2001 while expecting her second child and fell in love with the practice, with her breath, and with the beauty and power inherent in her own body. During a deep reclining pigeon pose while carrying her youngest daughter she felt the call to become a yoga teacher and share the power of asana practice with others. She received her 200 hour certification in S

hambava Yoga from Shonshoni Yoga Retreat in Nederland, CO. Jessica’s classes are a marriage of Vinyasa Flow and traditional Hatha, giving students an intimate connection with their breath as they move, and to intelligent alignment that honors where they are in their bodies in the moment. Pranayama (breath work) and meditation are included for a well rounded experience. Her greatest hope is that students leave her classes feeling deeply nourished, empowered, inspired and experience greater unity mind, body, and soul. Jessica is married to her best friend and with him home schools their two girls and four boys.

I had such a fun day demonstrating linocut printing and hanging out with other artists at the exPRESSion show. I was surprised to see that my work was featured on the poster advertising the show and at the end of the day and juror’s talk I was awarded the Juror’s Choice Award!

In January I made a goal to figure out how to have some of my artwork in a gallery. I searched online for printmaking shows I could submit work to and happened upon several shows with calls for entry for Colorado’s Month of the Print. Who knew there was such a thing?! I submitted work to 3 shows thinking I could probably get work into one. I got work into all 3!

Tomorrow, 10/26, is an open house at Beloved Yoga . I’ll be teaching a free 30 minute vinyasa practice at 10:00 and then sitting at a table full of prints to sell to new homes.

It’s been so long since I’ve been on here that I have no idea if anyone will see this, but if you do know that I would LOVE to see you tomorrow 🤗

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I’ve got to get my art brain to shift into data analysis and writing mode. I have an art therapy master’s thesis to write (and edit and rewrite I’m sure) during the month of October. When I’m sitting with my spreadsheets my brain thinks it needs to check instagram every 5 minutes, which is unsustainable, so I’m deleting the app from my phone until I have a thesis turned over to my committee. I may pop in on a Saturday or two, but I just can’t let weekdays be a possibility.

Come see me in person on Fridays at 5:45. We can move through it all together.

I will still be playing some pickleball and always, always welcome walks with friends. I just won’t be mindlessly watching stories for the foreseeable future. Deletion is the only way forward🤪

I’m so happy to announce that I’m back teaching a weekly class! Come settle from your work week and ease into your weekend every Friday at 5:30 for Vinyasa and Sound Flow. We’ll move and breathe and build some heat, then wind down with restorative poses wrapped in sound. I’ll bring a rotating array of instruments— guitar, harmonium, singing bowls, voice…. I may even be able to talk one of my kids into coming every once in a while with cello or drums.

Settle down and raise your vibration.
