Last week I had the opportunity to take a Thai Massage class. It’s not easy, it’s not for everyone, but the importance and benefits of this style massage is incredible.

Thai focuses more on acupressure, assisted stretching, and mindful movement. It typically takes place on the floor (on a Thai massage mat) with client fully clothed (in stretchy athletic style clothing).

Im really excited to continue practicing and learning more about Thai massage and hopefully offering this modality in the future

It’s safe to say I’m definitely losing this war. I have never been so ready for winter.

The picture is from today when I got stung moving hay around.. it sent me to urgent care for steroids as my hands are pretty important for what I do. It’s my first time taking a steroid ever….. I don’t think it’s working. Does anyone have a beekeepers suit? Do they even protect against yellow jackets? I think I need to be put in a bubble

I had the opportunity to teach a section of sport massage at Adrian School of Massage (the school I graduated from). Im not sure this was a roll I thought I’d step into when I graduated, but coming back many years later has been really exciting. Getting to share my experiences and helping young massage therapist learn has been so fun!

I have always loved teaching and educating my clients. It also helps keep me up on my knowledge and ensure Im giving the best possible care. I look forward to my next opportunity to teach in a group setting classroom or clinic.

The Brent Graef Horsemanship clinic was incredible!

Often times we get on a horse and go without checking into how we’re communicating with our horse.

It’s important to go back to the ground, back to basics to make sure our horses are ready for saddle work. It also allows us to check in and work on how we communicate and see if our horses are responding as we want. We can make sure they’re moving clean without restrictions which could otherwise cause pain when riding.

If you have the opportunity to attend a Brent grade clinic whether participating or auditing take it! You will be learning from one of the absolute best!

I’m so thankful to be surround by like-mind horse lovers who collaborate for the well-being of the horse. Over the weekend I have the opportunity to learn from 2 incredible trainers Kaylie Eaves Horsemanship LLC and Brent Graef Horsemanship and working with another incredible bodyworker Kayla Blaskowski Our unique combined knowledge gave Laredo improved mobility and pain relief beyond what just one of us could do alone.

Blessed with amazing friends and teachers in the horse community, always looking to grow and put the horses needs first

And just because you aren’t showing doesn’t mean you and your horse don’t need massage and bodywork. You’re often enduring more stress with uneven terrain, constantly changing environment, hills, traveling. Your bodies are still at work!

Good Friday ✨

A holiday we don’t all celebrate, many have it off work, and by far one of the most important.

We can’t have Easter without first having Good Friday. The day we celebrate Jesus death on the cross. His death is the ONLY thing allowing us forgiveness from our sins. He paid the price we all deserve.

As this holiday season approaches, we get wrapped up in the celebration with candy, egg hunts, and family gatherings; let’s not forget the true reason behind the season. Jesus came down to earth to live among sinners, to be crucified on the cross for our sins, so those who put their faith in Him can live eternally.

I was recently asked the question “what is one thing you wish your clients knew?”

One thing I wish all of my clients knew is it’s okay to not feel 100% better after one session and it’s okay to express this to your therapist. I think we live in a society with quick fixes and instant gratification. When it comes to healing the body it takes time, and multiple sessions.

And let’s be honest the typical 60min session isn’t enough time to really throughly get deep into the soft tissue. We have to pull back layer by layer. Maybe there are some other modalities we can start incorporating. Maybe some stretching, specific exercises, and mobility can be added to your rehab between sessions.

As your massage therapists I’m here to help you feel your best, or get back to feeling your best. Be honest with how you’re feeling. If there are techniques you enjoy or don’t enjoy. Treatments can be tweaked to best benefit you and your needs. (Within reason, 1 session isn’t a fix all for the days, weeks, months, or even years of stress we put on our bodies)
