We're back with more FOOD! 😋

A staple in our house: Air Fried Salmon over white rice with roasted brussel sprouts and carrots.

Our side dish from family Easter: Roasted Root Vegetable Medley-- beets, carrots, yellow potatoes, onion. Avocado oil, thyme, rosemary, salt, pepper, garlic powder.

Something quick + lazy: Gluten free "Goodles", ground beef, a can of garlic fire roasted tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and dairy free mozzarella. Cook the noodles, then add everything else to the pot.

And a glass of Merlot with someone you love🤍

My WHY...
Let me be real for a minute. There is something SO powerful about the connection between the mind and the body. Helping people restore this connection within themselves is something I always knew I wanted to do. Before becoming a massage therapist, I was in chiropractic school. My time there grew my passion for holistic health and this mind-body connection, and taught me a ton about the body and sciences. Upon becoming a mother, I knew there was another way for me to offer a similar kind of support to those in my community that allowed me to be present with my growing family now, and was just as impactful. This background has allowed me to be even more intentional and effective in my massage therapy practice-- better understanding the "why's," each individual muscle in the body, and the deep-rooted connection between the mind and body.

Your body is the healer; my hands are the helper. 🤍

And that is WHY massage therapy holds such a special place in my heart.

Let me re-introduce myself 😊
My name is Elli Gudenkauf, owner and massage therapist at Cultivate Wellness + Massage Therapy. I graduated from massage school and became a mother all in the same week back in February. After taking some sweet time soaking in our family firsts, I am excited to start serving previous and new clients at my new location. I am located in the same office as Wellness Within Chiropractic and Wellness and Flourish with Lisa in downtown Manchester!
My schedule is now open, and I will begin seeing clients this week (4/15)!🙌🏼Please shoot me a message if you'd like to schedule a massage with me. 563-608-2562

HUGE thanks to my mom, Lisa, for being a fabulous mentor to me in the massage world and motherhood. And to Ben for being my rock and biggest cheerleader through school, motherhood and beyond. I am blessed beyond measure.🤍

I'm gonna be honest, life lately has been busy, and I have been TIRED. With that being said, meals have not been photographed much and we've eaten lots of leftovers.
BUT, we celebrated my birthday at home and Ben cooked a delicious supper of rice, roasted brussel sprouts, and air fried salmon seasoned with Tajin. If you haven't tried this with your salmon, it's a must. So good every time!!
We also ate at the local Mexican restaurant, ordered pizza, had The Bread Basket, and lots and lots of leftovers to clean out the fridge before the holidays.
Not pictured: Roast with sweet potatoes, carrots, onions and banana peppers, Sweet potato casserole made for family thanksgiving, and a Sam's Club rotisserie chicken (iykyk).
Go-to snacks lately have been my No-Bake Cookie protein cookies, apples with cashew butter, blueberries + grapes, and occasionally some chocolate or chips.😅

What is everyone bringing to their Thanksgiving celebrations?

Pregnancy is such a beautiful blessing. As I enter my third trimester of pregnancy I'm reminded of the sweet little gifts this babe and season of life are whether that be feeling kicks as they become stronger, enjoying feeling more "regular" than when I'm not pregnant (coming from a fellow endometriosis gal), watching my belly grow, or the sleepless nights and body aches. Our bodies are truly amazing in how they transform so much to make room for new life.

The past couple of weeks in school, we have learned about pregnancy side-lying massages, and different stretches, holds, and compressions. Since we first started learning massage, we have also learned how to facilitate a prone (face down) massage using a pregnancy bolster as well. With my passion for all things women's health, including pregnancy, this is a tool that I am eager to offer my future clients.

Pregnancy is a lot on the body, and massage is a great way to help reduce discomfort and stress, and increase relaxation and circulation. I look forward to being able to serve my clients throughout their pregnancies and beyond!

Best,
Elli

Another week is here and gone, but it was a great first week of NOVEMBER!!
This past week we made some new things and some repeats:
-BBQ pulled pork, sweet corn, and roasted butternut squash; one squash was seasoned with garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and Italian seasonings, and the other was roasted with honey and cinnamon.
-Cabbage, Andouille chicken sausage, and orange and purple sweet potatoes. Everything roasted on the stove and seasoned from the heart. Salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic, onion (might be missing one or two lol)
-More apple cider streusel muffins (this time without the streusel topping) made with fresh applesauce, fresh apples that weren't a good snacking texture, and fresh apple cider. These were gluten, dairy, and egg free!
-Roasted chickpeas (2x). Rinsed, tossed in avocado oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and nutritional yeast and roasted in the air-fryer for 10-12 mins. These made for a GREAT topping and snack to help boost protein intake.
-Taco night with all the fixin's.
- Chili and gluten/egg/dairy free cinnamon cornbread muffins. Didn't get a pic of the chili, but I added chopped up butternut squash to it, a can of chickpeas, and a drizzle of honey for a little sweetness. The cornbread paired SO good with our Cinnamon Creamed Honey made by Johnson Honey Farm and purchased at Edgy Meg's in Edgewood. (This stuff is a must!!)

Have a great week, and stay tuned for some more yummy meals to come!
