When you're puppysitting, but the 35° at 5am is a little chillier than what was forecasted when you packed, you raid your son's closet to find a hoodie so that you can still get out for your pre-dawn workout (thanks Paul!). No excuses!

Trotted along for a little more than 2 slow miles ... not far and not fast, but it's a start. Time to get back at it!

I have been, I have been!

Woke just after 1:30am and gave up after a few minutes and decided to stay up. After putzing here on the laptop for a few while enjoying my tea, I decided to turn on some music and dance around the living room to get a Garmin badge that I've been chasing. I logged over 5,000 steps by 4:30am, so that's a pretty good start to my day!

I don't think I'll run today since I did quite a bit yesterday, but will walk at least a mile between now and 7am for those two streaks, and maybe a strength session in somewhere. I've not been doing as much of that, and I need to get back to it.

What are the rest of you doing on Saturday?

It's been a good one for me so far!

I didn't get out for my birthday run on Wed, and it was still storming this morning, so I hopped on the treadmill and ran for 6.7 mi for my 67th birthday (and got the weekend 10k badge too), then walked it off for another mile to keep that streak going. I felt pretty good doing the longer run, I guess because I haven't been doing much lately and was pretty well rested. Hooray for rest days!

I'm having my smoothie now and will cool down a bit more before showering, and then having lunch with a friend. Probably won't get much else done today.

What fantastic things will be happening on your Friday?

Happy Independence Day!

I'm going to my son's this afternoon to stuff our faces and do sparklers and such with the grandkids. My brother and his wife will also be there, so it should be a good time.

I need to stop at the store before going, so that means I should get off my duff and do something early. It's a gorgeous morning and I need to run, but I also need to stay close to a bathroom - not sure what's happening there, but I don't want to tempt fate. Ugh.

Whatever you're doing today, be safe ... and don't forget to MOVE!

I was, and am!

My plan was to walk a mile out and run the mile back to get those two boxes checked. I ended up walking out for 1.21 miles, ran back 1.02 miles, and walked it off again for another 1/4 mile.

I still need to do 30 minutes of something to keep that streak going. There's a run club that meets on Thurs at 6pm, but we're still in a heat advisory, and also calling for thunderstorms most of the late afternoon/early evening, so I don't know if it'll be a go. If not cancelled, I might go just to walk since I did so much yesterday, but if it's called due to weather, maybe I'll pedal in the garage for 30 min or something.

What will you be rocking today? Get out there and get after it!

I haven't a clue!

I've already met my walking and total step goals for the month, but still need 5.3 miles to meet the running goal. Should I try to get that out of the way today? I haven't been running more than 2-3 miles lately, and the run conditions today are supposed to be pretty brutal, and I don't know if I have that much in me.

Ahhh, maybe I'll see if I can cool things off in the garage a bit and hit the treadmill instead. Ooh, and there's another Garmin badge for running 15K (9.3 miles) that I'd really like to get by end of day Sunday, but didn't think that would be possible with the forecast this week. If I do it on the treadmill, I won't have to worry about being out on the road and having an issue far from home, and can even pause for a potty break if necessary.

Ok, decision made. The treadmill it is, even if it's just for a couple of miles. See how I talked myself into it? Now what are you going to do today?

Update:

I did it! I ran on the treadmill for 9.34 miles, taking one potty break. 🙂 When done, I needed to stretch my legs out, so I did a cool down walk outside for another .39 mi.

22,700 steps for me so far today. Phew!

I didn't!

Got out for an easy 2 mi run, then turned my cool down into another mile walk (to keep that streak going too). Humidity was a bit much, but don't think it was as bad as it was on yesterday's 3-miler.

My boxes are checked!

- Got up (obviously)

- Thankful that I did

- Went out for an easy run for 3.29 mi, with a cool down walk of 1.21 mi with L'il Bit

- That could double as my 'me' time, but I'll also probably mosey around the garden, and will probably relax and read a bit later
