Sports Tech & Running Injury Prediction: Helpful or Misleading?

We love our watches. Recovery scores, HRV, strain numbers — they make us feel in control.

But studies have flipped the script:

👉 Most running injuries don’t build up slowly.
They happen suddenly, in a single hard workout.
Meaning your watch can show ✅ “green” right up until your calf pops or your knee flares.

So is your tech lying?
Not exactly — but it’s not the whole truth.

Use your data… don’t worship it.
