3 (of the many) reasons why my clients have signed up for coaching

1️⃣ They’re ready to put themselves at the top of their priority list
I always say taking care of your health is one of the highest forms of self love and self care. It’s so easy to put your health at the bottom of your to-do list and put the request of others and everything else on top. When they’ve signed up for coaching they’ve made the decision that it’s time to make themselves a priority.

2️⃣ They don’t know what tools they need to succeed
When it comes to reaching your health and fitness goals you can do all of the things or you can do the right things. A lot of clients that come to me have done ALL of the things but are finally ready to do the RIGHT things they need to do to reach their specific goals.

3️⃣ They don't know where to start
Honestly, with the overabundance of information out there when it comes to health and fitness I wouldn’t know where to start either. You have to first decipher through all the information out there to figure out what’s wrong and what’s right, then go through what’s right to figure out what’s right specifically for you. Working with a professional takes away the guesswork and helps to create an effective process that helps you reach your goals.

I have 4 spots open for my 12-week 1:1 coaching program. We take nutrition, fitness, and mindset and level up your health and well-being. To date I’ve worked with hundreds of high achieving individuals customizing programs using evidence-based practices to level up their health and help them reach their goals. Link in bio to get on the waitlist for coaching starting in January 2022 or book a discovery call to see what service will be best for you!

What’s your why?

We all have a “why” behind why we take care of our health, why we set the goals that we do when it comes to our health and fitness, why we do the work even if it requires sacrifice. This is what we tap into when we really want to activate our full potential.

Our why comes from our values, motivations, passions, strengths. And this will change. As we go through different stages of life, a lot these different factors change causing our why to change with them.

I can go on and on about my why behind taking care of my health but here area a couple pieces to my why:
💚 Not taking my health for granted
💚 Being grateful to be able to live a healthy fulfilling life because I am taking care of me
💚 Having so much love for my body and all that it does to support me that all I want to do is give it the nourishment it needs to continue to support me
💚 Wanting to feel good, move well, and be well for as long as possible, and the list goes on.

What’s your why? Let me know in the comments 👇🏾

Staying motivated every single day is tough and not realistic! But for those tough days/weeks here are four quick tips to think about to keep you going.

Start where you are - When starting a health journey a lot of us try to do "all of the things" all at once. Trying to change one simple health behavior is hard enough, so trying to do so many of them at once is even more challenging. We have to continue to remind ourselves that a health journey is a marathon not a sprint. Start where you are, choose one small step to work on, and go from there.

Celebrate all wins - Don't ever think an accomplishment is too small to celebrate. It's so easy for us to focus on what we haven't done rather than what we have. When it comes to making changes in your health every small step counts and it's those small steps that allow us to reach the big goals.

Find an accountability partner, group, or coach - We do better when we work together! Having someone or a group to join you on your journey gives you the extra support, accountability and motivation to continue moving towards your goals.

Use your creativity - Boredom is a very easy way to decrease our motivation. We won't want to continue doing something that we've become disinterested in. One way to prevent this is to be creative! Don't do the same thing everyday (unless you're the type that likes to) try new things, new challenges, etc to keep you looking forward to what you're doing.

What do you do to help keep you going in your journey? Let me know in the comments!!

When it comes to weight loss health fitness and nutrition there is so much conflicting information out there about how and what you should do to reach your goals

Years and years ago I fell into this same trap of trying all the things they claimed you SHOULD do

It’s confusing, frustrating, and overwhelming dealing with all these mixed messages

So what are you supposed to do?

The best method is to follow the real (emphasis on real because even research can be questionable) evidence based peer-reviewed methods to reaching your goals, customize it to make it work for you as an individual, and if you’re able to add proper guidance to support you throughout your journey

Nutrition and weight management

Using this picture of yummy sweet potato avocado toast to talk a little bit about nutrition and weight management (dm me for recipe)

So keeping it SIMPLE (which I am all about) weight management is all about energy balance, so energy in vs energy out or calories in vs calories out - a calorie is a unit of energy

Weight maintenance occurs when the energy we take in (calories) is the same as what we expend, or, often stated as what we burn, in our daily usage of energy

Weight gain occurs when the energy we take in is more than what we expend, and weight loss when we take in less than what we expend

So the amount of energy you need to take in and amount of energy you expend depend on your goals (weight loss, weight gain, weight maintenance or body recomposition)

Now is this the only factor that needs to be considered when looking at nutrition and weight management? No way! We wish it was that easy. But is this a place to start? Yes!

Again, it’s simple but not so simple. The hard part is determining how much energy we need exactly and what the energy consists of as individuals to take in and to expend to reach our goals. This depends on your activity levels, your goals, your current health status, your lifestyle, etc

This customized information is something all of my 1:1 clients get as part of my 12-week Elevate! Strong & Sexy program. I opened up 6 spots for my program to start October 1st and end right before the new year to end the year off with a bang! This is the last quarter of the year and we do not want to end where we started, it’s time to level up! DM me the word ELEVATE if you’re interested in learning more.

Happy Monday babes!

It’s the start of a new week and a great day to determine what you can do this week to get you closer to your goals

Revisit your goals and where you’d like to be in terms of your health and fitness

Now take a look at this upcoming week

What’s one thing you can implement each day this week to move you closer to your goals?

One small thing. It doesn’t have to be complicated

But what is something you can implement each day this week?

It’s the actions we take each day and the consistency in those actions that will bring our desired outcome

Without action there is no change

One habit, one step closer. Let’s go! 💚

Act with intention

One win most of my clients leave my program with, is the ability to be more intentional with their choices when it comes to their health

They were no longer just doing without thinking but making choices based on what was going to best serve them, their bodies, their minds, and their goals

Three questions to ask yourself to determine if you are being intentional with your health behaviors are

💚Does this align with my why and my goals?
💚Will this cause me stress or relaxation?
💚 Will these choices keep me on course and set me up for success?

You’ve heard the quote, “Fear has two meanings forget everything and run or face everything and rise”

I’ve been through many experiences throughout my life that has put me in a position to choose between the two, like when I first started my business

I’ve always said I am very grateful to have found my passion so early on and healthcare and helping others is something I’ve always seen myself doing for as long as I can remember

Health is wealth and my mission is to reach as many individuals as I can to educate, empower, and encourage them to living their best lives of optimal health and wellness

To date, I’ve helped hundreds of individuals change their health and change their lives and the journey continues

So going back to that quote - what meaning did I choose? Forget everything and run or face everything and rise? As always, face everything and rise

It is impossible for me not to fulfill my mission for it is my destiny

Friendly reminder that there’s more to your success than the number on the scale

Prior to working with me so many of my clients would put so much emphasis on the number on the scale

And I would always tell them, where the mind goes, energy flows. You can’t wake up in the morning and just decide what number you want to see that day, but you CAN wake up in the morning and decide what habits you want to engage in that can shift that number

Tap into the other changes and messages your body may be telling you when determining your success

Put your energy into your habits that will lead to your success and the results will follow

The scale is just data, sis

There are so many different factors that create that one number

If it serves you, use it. If it doesn’t, ditch it

Healthy feels good!

No secret here but we know this is one of the main reasons why the quick fixes and crash diets don’t stick

Healthy isn’t about depriving yourself of what you love and enjoy

You should never feel like you have to miss your grandma’s birthday party in order to reach your goals (I have client’s that have done this prior to working with me)

What it IS about is ADDING more nourishment, love, care, and enjoyment into your life

Engaging in habits that will continue to make you a better YOU and enjoying it!

This is one of the main areas I work with my clients on through their weight loss journey and developing a healthier lifestyle

Taking the different factors that they need to reach their goals while making sure they are enjoying every bit of the journey
