When can you work out after a Tummy Tuck? - We want some movement, such as light walking, the day after surgery to prevent blood clots and increase circulation. After one month, some jogging and aerobic exercise is okay. After 3 months, you are good to do core workouts!

The truth is, we don't know! Everyone gains weight differently in different places. However, a tummy tuck limits your body's ability to store fat in the area closest to your skin. You can gain visceral fat, or fat around your organs.

The tummy tuck is commonly used to reshape your starting point, and help you get in the best shape!

Can you get a tummy tuck without having a muscle repair? - Absolutely! Most of the tummy tucks I do have muscle repair, but some may just need to remove extra skin.

Yes, but it's highly discouraged. It's simple nutrition. Your body may not be taking in enough nutrition to support itself. Weight stabilization is important before your body goes through the stress of surgery!

How long is a tummy tuck surgery?
It depends on your needs! It depends on how much skin you may want removed, if we're doing a muscle repair, and which style of tummy tuck you'd like.

This means that the surgery can take anywhere between 2-5 hours.

Do you have to stay overnight in a hospital or other setting after a tummy tuck!
No! It used to be common for patients to stay overnight, but we encourage patients to heal at home, where it is quiet, clean, and comfortable! (A little Netflix, a warm blanket, and some light strolls around your home are always a plus anyway!)

For me, yes!

I do this to lift the skin from the tissues safely and create a smooth transition while contouring the abdomen. Some may be opposed to using liposuction at the same time as a tummy tuck, so ask your surgeon!
