Earlier this month, we had the chance to slow down for a few hours and celebrate some very special people, our nurses. 💚

Our team spent a beautiful afternoon together planting succulents in little pots to take home as a reminder of the care, growth, and comfort they pour into others every single day. We wrapped up the afternoon with a simple backyard-style cookout filled with burgers, hot dogs, laughter, and time together outside of the usual pace of hospice care.

Hospice nursing is sacred work. It takes compassion, wisdom, patience, strength, and an incredible heart to walk alongside patients and families during some of life’s most tender moments. We are endlessly grateful for the nurses of AlēvCare and the love they show our patients, families, and one another every day.

To our nurses, thank you for the comfort you bring, the calm you provide, and the countless ways you make a difference in the lives of the families that trust us. We hope you all had a very Happy Nurses Week! 🌱☀️

Last month, we had the opportunity to gather together for our AlēvCare Annual Awards Meeting.

It was a special time to celebrate some of the incredible people on our team who were recognized by their peers for the way they serve our patients, families, coworkers, and community. Seeing the smiles, hugs, and genuine support for one another was a beautiful reminder of the kind of culture we’re building together at AlēvCare.

At the same time, one of the things we shared that day is that hospice care is never about one person. Every visit made, every phone call answered, every patient bathed, every medication delivered, every chart reviewed, every volunteer hour given, every prayer spoken, and every family supported takes a team.

While only a handful of awards are given each year, the truth is that the heart of AlēvCare is found in ALL of the people who quietly show up every day to care for others with compassion, excellence, humility, and love.

To our entire team, thank you. We are incredibly grateful for each of you and honored to serve the North Texas community together. 💚

To truly express what our nurses mean to us, it can’t be captured in just a sentence or two, so we hope you spend some extra time on this post because what we want to share below is genuine and heartfelt. 💚

This week, we celebrate some of the most extraordinary people we know… our nurses.

Hospice nursing isn't just a profession. It’s a calling that asks people to walk into some of life’s most tender, sacred, emotional, and difficult moments with skill, compassion, courage, and grace.

Our nurses show up every single day for patients and families who are facing uncertainty, fear, grief, and heartbreak. They provide expert clinical care, but they also provide something equally important… comfort, reassurance, dignity, presence, and love.

They answer late-night calls.
They sit at bedsides.
They hold hands.
They advocate fiercely.
They pray with families.
They celebrate small victories.
And they help people experience peace and dignity at the end of life.

We are incredibly blessed to have such an amazing team of nurses at AlēvCare Hospice.

While no recognition or award is ever the result of one person or one department alone, our nurses play an incredibly important role in helping us provide the level of care our community deserves. Their dedication and heart are part of what has helped AlēvCare achieve honors such as our CMS 5-Star Hospice Rating and being voted a favorite hospice provider in our communities.

But more important than awards are the moments no one else sees:
The extra time spent comforting a spouse.
The tears shed in the car after a difficult visit.
The sometimes overwhelming burden of documentation requirements.
The quiet acts of kindness.
The unwavering commitment to doing the right thing for patients and families.

To our nurses:
Thank you for your compassion.
Thank you for your sacrifices.
Thank you for your excellence.
Thank you for carrying the heart of hospice into homes across North Texas every day.

We're incredibly honored that AlēvCare Hospice is recognized as a Medicare 5-Star Hospice on the Medicare.gov Care Compare website! Only four hospices in DFW, out of over 200 hospice providers, currently hold a Medicare 5-Star Rating.

For us, this recognition reflects the trust families place in us during life’s most sacred moments, and the steady, compassionate care our team provides every day in homes and communities across North Texas.

During National Volunteer Month, we’re reminded how much of a difference our volunteers make, not just in what they do, but in how they show up.

At AlēvCare Hospice, volunteering can look a lot of different ways:
• Spending time with patients and families
• Helping in the office or with administrative needs
• Supporting events and community outreach
• Writing cards, making calls, or offering encouragement

Each role matters. And in many ways, it reflects something deeper, a willingness to serve others with compassion and purpose.

Volunteering doesn’t just impact the people we care for, it has a way of strengthening your own well-being too, bringing a sense of peace, connection, and meaning that’s hard to find anywhere else.
