At Kidsville Pediatrics Mansfield, we believe balance is key. Chocolate, particularly dark chocolate with high cocoa content, offers several health benefits when consumed in moderation. However, sugar-loaded varieties can quickly outweigh those benefits for growing kids.

Excess sugar consumption can increase the risk of childhood obesity, type 2 diabetes, tooth decay, and behavioral fluctuations due to rapid blood sugar spikes and crashes.
