Teenagers are more than the stereotypes often placed on them.
The idea of the “teenager” emerged in the mid-20th century as science and society began to better understand this unique transition from childhood to adulthood. We now know that teen brains are still developing, which explains why this stage can feel confusing, emotional, and transformative.
Despite the challenges, many teens are thoughtful, resilient, and full of potential—just learning how to navigate the world. National Good Teen Day, first celebrated in 1992 and later recognized by the U.S. Congress, was created to focus on the positive qualities of America’s youth and the good found in every teen.
At Kidsville Pediatrics Mansfield, we support teens through compassionate behavioral health services, led by our specialists:
• Sophia Hernandez, MD
• Harsh*ta Kumar, MD
• Alexander Ng, APRN, PMHNP-BC
• Kathryne Rivero, APRN, CPNP-PC, PMHS
We’re here to help teens grow with confidence, emotional support, and understanding.
