⛵ Ready to set sail in Manteo? Read this first!

Planning your Roanoke Sound adventure? Here are a few quick things to know before booking to ensure the best experience:

⏱ 2.5 Hour Sails: Plenty of time to relax. Please arrive 10 mins early and complete your electronic waiver on your phone beforehand!

📍 Soundside Sailing: We sail the beautiful Roanoke Sound, departing directly from downtown Manteo (not the ocean!).

👥 Max 6 Guests: Our vessel is intimate and cozy, certified for up to 6 people maximum.

☀️ Weather Policy: Safety first! If we need to postpone due to weather, we’ll notify you 2 hours prior, and your deposit can be used for a future date.

👶 Family Friendly: Kids are welcome! Children under 13 must wear a lifejacket. Please let us know in advance so we have the right size ready.

We feel this to our core.

Our 8-year-old selves would be absolutely stoked to hear stories of the adventures we’re having now—jumping for joy at the idea of sailing daily, making friends, and having the ocean as our backyard.

Likewise, our 80-year-old selves are already proud of the risks we took, the places we’ve seen, and the beautiful community we’ve built. They’d be happiest to know we weren't afraid to pivot when things weren't working and learned to listen inward when we felt lost.

How we all started?

The idea of Coastal Sols started after stumbling across the perfect boat.

While visiting family in Maryland, we found a boat at a small Marina, tucked away and untouched. A year later, curiosity got the best of us, and we checked in on her. Not much had changed, so Ryan went to inquire. The rest, as they say, is history - a two-hour conversation turned into an offer we couldn’t refuse.

At the time, we were working on a 77-foot Lagoon catamaran in Baja California. The 1964 Hinckley pilot 35 was a mystery, but we began the process. Sitting on the catamaran’s deck, watching pelicans dive, felt like a sign. This new chapter felt right.

As time passed, our brand developed, and our vision took shape. We named our boat Pelican, symbolizing change, and Coastal Sols was born. Our mission became clear: inspiring conscious living through coastal experiences. We want to share what brings us to life with others.
