Do you get bored with just going out for a run? Maybe it's time to spruce them up, here are a few ideas to help make running more fun! 😀

✅ Mix in some strength fun! To break up a run, try adding a strength move at each mile mark. something like 10 pushups or plank for 1:00 at each mile.
✅ Mix in some drills mid-run. At every mile, mix in some running related technique drills (or change the plane) - such as add some side strides (running side ways'ish), run slowly backwards, skip, two-footed hops, slow down and work on pulling heels to hips.
✅ Play a fun game of "vary your pace". This doesn't mean you have to add in super fast stuff (unless you want to), but making small speed adjustments oddly can be fun. You can pick a landmark to run to every so many minutes, or just spend a mile slowly building, than the next mile slowly backing off.
✅ Find a new place to run or a route you've never done before.
✅ Run on a surface you don't often get to run on - sand, dirt, wood chips, grass, etc. (no need to worry about your speed)
✅ Create a fun circuit and do it for a given amount of time. For instance, you can run for 2:00, drop and do 1:00 plank, then do 100 jumping jacks, 10 broad jumps, 10 push ups, 10 burpees, 1:00 minute plank - repeat as many rounds as you can in 45 minutes.
✅ If you're truly feeling burned out, give yourself a recovery week where there's no pressure to do anything in particular. The only goal that week is to have fun. Bring your phone to take epic pictures. Maybe treat yourself to a podcast during your run. Do a run/walk on a hilly route.

What ideas do you have to spruce up your runs every once in a while?

The voice in your head will try to convince you to back off long before your body actually needs to.

It’ll whisper that you’re tired. But you Are capable.
That you’re not ready. But you are more ready than you think.
That everyone else looks stronger. But you are also strong.
That maybe today just isn’t your day. But you are resilient.

That voice is trying to keep you comfortable, not help you grow.

Pause. Take one steady breath.
Focus on the next stroke. The next pedal stroke. The next step.

You don’t have to conquer the whole workout or race at once. You just have to stay in it.

Stay strong.
You are more than you realize.
Stay in it. Talk back to that doubt.

You’ve already done hard things. This is just another one.

Save this for race week. And tell me — what do you say to yourself when it gets tough?

Congratulations to Carlos on his amazing run at the Pearland 10k yesterday. Work and life has kept him more busy than usual and he stilled managed to run it in 48:26!

Can’t wait to see what he does at the Woodlands half next weekend.

There’s a lot going on in the world right now. A lot of noise. A lot of opinions. A lot of heaviness.

Kindness isn’t soft. It’s strong.

In your training.
In your self-talk.
In how you show up for others.

This week, choose progress over perfection. Be patient. Be steady. And most importantly be KIND.

Happy Monday. Let’s get after it.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Friday Funny! When two friends spot each other during their run...

Friend 1: "Hey! Are you running from something or to something?"
Friend 2: "Both! But mostly from my responsibilities!" 😂

Nothing like a little cardio and laughter to kick off the weekend!

Awesome day of training in Belleville with these strong ladies. It was 💨 than we expected, combine that with hills and we had one excellent day. Everyone stayed strong and finished it off with a run.
We will be race ready, because the TX races will be here soon.

What if the thing holding you back isn’t your fitness… but what you haven’t been told yet?

If you’re new to triathlon or running, it’s easy to think you just need to train harder, push more, do what everyone else is doing. But growth doesn’t come from guessing. It comes from guidance.

Coaching isn’t just about having a plan in your Training Peaks. It’s about having the right plan — and understanding why you’re doing what you’re doing. The adjustments you didn’t know you needed. The reminder to slow down so you can actually get faster.

It’s someone seeing the habits, the doubts, the “I’m not really an athlete” thoughts… and helping you rewrite that story.

Not to tear you down.
But to build you up.

You don’t need to be fast to have a coach.
You don’t need to be confident.
You just need to be willing to start.

If you’re ready to stop figuring it out alone and start training with direction, message me “COACH” or click the link in my bio. Let’s build this the right way.
