It’s been a while. After I lost my dad in April, I took a fall and broke my hip in early June, then lost my husband in late June to a sudden illness. While recovering, I made a poncho for one of my best friends to say thank you for all her help. I’m trying to get back in the swing of things, but it’s definitely a slow process.

I apologize for my extended absence. Three weeks ago I got the call no daughter ever wants to get: “Your dad is in the ICU and, oh, by the way? You’re his medical power of attorney.” His funeral was Monday, in Napa, which meant a four day out and back from the east coast to the west coast and back. On planes. 😱 We are nome, now, but I have a ton of executor stuff to do, so I’m going to be absent for a while longer.

Got my last two quilts finished this week, and looking forward to the next one! My bonus daughter just had a birthday AND she and my son-in-love will be closing on their house on Monday. She loves succulents and wanted a quilt that reflects that. I found a Robert Kaufman Desert Blooms jelly roll with the prettiest cactus prints and got it ordered so it will be here early next week.
