This new program features 6 weeks of all the wellness habits I wish I knew in my 20’s and 30’s. Designed to be taken as a group virtually, this program was created with 20/30 something women in mind.

The truth is, I feel better in every way in my 40’s. Through mindset shifts and establishing lifestyle habits that positively impact my sleep, stress and approach to food, I have been able to create a new future for myself. When I reflect back on old habits that no longer serve me, I often wish I knew then what I know now. One thing I can’t do is attribute the success of my fertility journey to one single thing. When you’re “in it” you’ll try just about anything. What I’ve realized now is that at the core of all the modalities I incorporated was that my mindset was paramount. Did that mean I wasn’t nervous? Hell no. Did I have my negative and defeated moments? You bet. It’s almost impossible not to. I had to make the choice to see the end goal, my baby. Take each day one step at a time to compartmentalize the process so it feels more manageable. Instead of being consumed with worry or doubt, choose to feed your mind hope, truth and love. 🤍

Hormonal imbalance following fertility treatments is rarely discussed before, during or after the process. Slide through to read about my personal experience following the 3 IVF cycles I underwent. Of course every(body) is different and our stories are unique to so many factors.

Today I’m sharing two products that I love for achieving hormonal balance naturally.

After trying countless therapies, ingredients, supplements, herbs and tinctures, these are the two products that remain consistent for me as I continue to feel the benefits every month. The dark place ceases to exist the more I carefully care for myself during this phase. When we take pause to listen to our bodies we can find the magic solutions that work for us in any particular season.

The first is JS Health PMS + Hormone Support, loaded with B vitamins, magnesium citrate and adaptogens. They’re an Australian company founded by Jessica Sepel, who carefully curates ingredients to target common health problems. Her process to maximize efficacy is proven effective by the number of 5⭐️ reviews.

Second, during that same cycle phase, I scoop Organifi Harmony blend into my daily smoothie or my morning coffee. It’s hard to go wrong when cacao is involved! It pairs well with so many different ingredients so you can maximize health benefits in one blend.

I’m kicking off February by featuring 28 days of “Things I Love”. Today I’m sharing the superfood hot chocolate recipe that I practically lived on when I was trying to conceive.

It features the superfood ingredient, maca powder. Maca is the root of a cruciferous vegetable that is grown in the Andes region of Peru. It comes in three different colors, each offering it’s own adaptogenic benefits. The yellow version, found in most local markets or health food stores, is the one used as a key ingredient to boost fertility. Studies indicate that maca has properties that help balance hormones and reduce stress, both of which are helpful for healthy conception.

Research has shown that using maca can also reduce depression and anxiety. Maca is an adaptogenic herb, a non-toxic plant that helps the body regulate stress. More specifically, maca supports the endocrine system, regulating communication between the hypothalamus and pituitary glands, which helps balance the production of hormones.

Maca powder was the magic ingredient of my conception dreams. One of the first places I learned about it was in this superfood hot chocolate recipe from Love and Lemons.

Let me add, even if you’re not trying to conceive, it is so delicious and the perfect winter treat. Bottoms up ☕️

Ingredients
* 2½ cups unsweetened almond milk
* 2 tablespoons cacao powder (I use Nativas Naturals)
* 1 tablespoon maca powder (I use Essential Living Foods)
* 2 tablespoons maple syrup, or to taste
* ½ teaspoon coconut oil
* Pinch of cinnamon
* Tiny pinch of sea salt

Instructions
1. In a blender (or whisk by hand), mix the almond milk, cacao powder, maca, maple syrup, coconut oil, cinnamon and salt. Transfer to a small saucepan and warm over medium heat. Taste and adjust the sweetness to your preference.
2. Serve with coconut whip and shaved dark chocolate, both optional.

There is strong evidence supporting the positive impact that certain foods can have on fertility when you’re trying to conceive. Whether your goal is to conceive naturally or with the help of medical interventions, our coaching program guides you through dietary changes, along with methods proven to strengthen your stress response and regain control throughout the process.
