SarahCannedy.com In 1994, while visiting family in Southern Illinois, a childhood friend asked if I would like to learn how to weave baskets with her.

After a disastrous first basket I was hooked and here I am still weaving in 2019! These hand woven pieces of functional art are created by Marietta Georgia artist Sarah Cannedy. Sarah has over twenty years of experience with hand weaving various baskets, figures, chairs, angels, and snowflakes. With her one-of-a-kind originals, she incorporates not only various types of traditional reeds, but also pine needles, walnut husks, antlers, florals, and agates. Sarah considers her weaving as her mental therapy (Keep Calm and Weave On!) from her real job of being a legal assistant, and she counts her family, friends, and strong faith in God as the inspirations for her work. In addition to basket weaving, Sarah enjoys photography and crafting of any kind. She has been described as "crafty before crafty was a thing."
