On 2/18/92 I suffered a cerebral hemmorhage while working out in a gym. I underwent seven hours of brain surgery to relieve the pressure on my brain. I was left with stroke-like symptoms and my doctors were not optimistic about my recovery. I spent the following year in physical and occupational therapy trying to rehabilitate myself to the best of my ability. I made substantial progress during that period but knew it was going to be a long and challenging process to achieve the goals that I had set for myself. To this day I continue to make strides and am extremely grateful and blessed to have all the support from family and friends that I had and continue to have today. On 6/10/09 I made the most important decision I will ever make by declaring Jesus my Lord and Savior, and life for me changed dramatically. God definitely had a plan for me but waited almost 20 years to the day to reveal what direction and path he He had chosen for me. I have always had a passion for staying active and being in good physical shape, even with the challenges put before me. I went on with life for 16 years after my injury living a somewhat productive life but still a lost soul. Shortly before becoming a Christian I had a yearly physical exam and it revealed that my cholesterol level was high and that I had hypertension. I decided that day that it was time for me to get in the best physical condition of my life. It has been a little over four years and I have accomplished that. My priority today is to live a Christ-centered life while maintaining my fitness level to the best of my ability. I have helped several friends and colleagues improve their physical self along the way and have now decided to fulfill a lifelong dream in helping others reach their fitness goals. I know that if I can overcome all the obstacles I have, you too can achieve whatever dreams your heart desires...
1 Cor 6:19-20...Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. Michael Edmondson
