Tinnitus is the "phantom limb pain" of the brain except the auditory system doesn't have pain reception, only sound. When the nerves in the brain die (hearing loss), the brain goes looking for stimulation and creates its own sound--hence, the ringing, buzzing, swishing, squishing you hear.

First We'll Talk

A hearing consultation with your Cobb Hearing Aids Services professional is a vital first step in the journey to better hearing. Speaking with a qualified specialist is a great way to learn more about your hearing. We start with a systematic review of past medical history, especially as it pertains to your family's history of hearing loss. We're also looking for other causes of the hearing loss, including noise exposure, medications, and any visible or structural damage to the hearing mechanism.We also ask about your lifestyle to find out when, where, and who you are having difficulty hearing, and find out what your hearing goals are.

Then We'll Test

Next we perform a comprehensive hearing health exam. A hearing evaluation provides information related to the type of hearing loss, degree of hearing loss, and the patient’s ability to understand speech.
