THE SALT WATER REVEAL 🌊🍓
​Believe it or not, those "wiggly" things people see in their strawberries are just nature's way of proving your fruit is "Living Food" and not covered in heavy chemicals!
​As a Naturopath, I see this as a sign of a clean farm. If the "ick factor" is still too much for you, a 5-minute soak in 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water does the trick. Rinse and enjoy your clean fuel!

DR. ROX'S GROCERY GUIDE: ARE YOUR BERRIES ALIVE?

Those wiggly white things on the strawberry are the larvae of the spotted, Wing Drosophila (a tiny fruit fly) They lay their eggs just under the skin, and the larvae hatch inside. This strawberry was washed in salt and vinegar. The larvae are sensitive to salt so they all try to escape at the same time, through the same tiny opening or around the seed. They are 100% harmless to humans. In fact, if you've ever eaten organic strawberries from a Farmer's Market without soaking them, you've likely eaten hundreds of them over your lifetime without knowning it.
