March is Healthcare Social Work Month!

We’re shining the spotlight on one of our amazing team members—Bailey, our dedicated Long-Term Care Social Worker! 💙

Bailey’s journey with us is truly special. She started as a CNA, then grew into a role in Activities, and now serves as our Social Worker—bringing compassion, experience, and heart to everything she does. Watching her grow with our building has been incredible, and her commitment to our residents shines through in every role she’s taken on.

When she’s not at work supporting our residents and families, Bailey is busy keeping up with her kids’ schedules (no small task!) and preparing for a very special moment—her wedding later this year! 💍✨

We’re so lucky to have Bailey as part of our team. Join us in celebrating her both professionally and personally during this exciting time in her life!

On Friday, some members of our IDT team had the opportunity to visit the UNI Dementia Simulation House, and it was truly an eye-opening experience.

The simulation gave us a deeper understanding of what individuals living with dementia may experience on a daily basis—confusion, sensory changes, and the emotional impact that can come with even simple tasks. Walking through real-life scenarios helped us build greater empathy and reinforced the importance of patience, communication, and person-centered care in everything we do.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this that allow our team to grow, learn, and continue improving the care and support we provide to those we serve. 💜

UNI’s gerontology program has created an innovative hands-on learning experience for campus and the community in the Dementia Simulation House, a home where individuals use goggles, headphones and gloves to experience
