🌸💄 Gorgeous Grandma Day at Shannondale of Maryville! 💄🌸

We rolled out the pink carpet for our fabulous residents to celebrate Gorgeous Grandma Day in style! 💁‍♀️✨

Residents enjoyed delicious mocktails, glam make-up sessions by our very own resident Becky Dwarshuis, who is a Mary Kay consultant. Fun gift bags full of accessories were provided thanks to the generous Carol with All Tennessee Caregivers. 🎁👛💋

The highlight? A glitzy photo op where our gorgeous grandmas showed off their dazzling smiles, stylish outfits, and radiant personalities! 📸💐

It was a day of pampering, laughter, and celebrating the beauty, strength, and sparkle of every grandma here at Shannondale. 💕

🌺 Aloha from Shannondale of Maryville! 🌺 We had a blast welcoming our newest residents at our New Resident Housewarming Luau! 🌴🎉 Everyone got into the tropical spirit with festive Luau attire, warm smiles, and island vibes. A special mahalo to Kari Oliver with Home Instead for treating us to her homemade orange and pineapple ice cream — it was a delicious hit! 🍊🍍🍦 Our new residents were introduced and showered with the Shannondale hospitality we’re known for. What a sweet way to say welcome home! 💛🏠

💧☀️ A big THANK YOU to Jasmine Satterfield with Senior Care Partners of East Tennessee for bringing some cool, refreshing fun to Shannondale of Maryville! Jasmine set up a fantastic Hydration Bar to help our residents, staff, and families stay hydrated in style — serving up creative drinks like the Pink Flamingo, Hula Girl, and Shark Attack! 🦩🌺🦈 She reminded us all that staying hydrated is important and delicious. Thanks for showing us that water can be fun, flavorful, and essential to our health!

🎄☀️ Christmas in July at Shannondale of Maryville! ☀️🎄 Santa traded in his sleigh for flip-flops and came straight from his beach vacation to spread a little mid-year magic! 🏖️🎅 Residents were treated to festive fun, special summer vacation cookies, and a cheerful visit from the big man himself—who couldn’t resist checking his list to see who’s been naughty or nice (no worries… mostly nice! 😉). Laughter, sunshine, and a sprinkle of Christmas spirit made it a day to remember! ❤️🎁🎶

July is UV Safety Awareness Month — and sun protection is important at every age. For older adults especially, taking a few extra steps can help keep skin healthy and strong all summer long.

Here are a few simple tips:
• Wear lightweight clothing that covers arms and legs
• Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and reapply often
• Avoid peak sun hours (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) when possible
• Don’t forget sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat

Protect your skin and enjoy the sunshine safely! ☀️

🎨🖌 Creativity was flowing at Shannondale of Maryville during our monthly painting class with Life Enrichment Director, Jen Krueger! This month’s masterpiece? "Sunset Catch" – a vibrant, rainbow trout full of color and charm! 🐟🌅 Residents followed a fun, step-by-step process to bring their own version of the fish to life. No experience needed — just a love for trying something new and getting lost in the joy of creating. Every month brings a new theme, a new painting, and lots of laughter and encouragement. 💛 Stay tuned to see what we paint next!
