We Are the Evidence: Massachusetts

We Are the Evidence: Massachusetts A grass-roots project created to support nationwide efforts to expand bystander access to Naloxone/Narcan. We are worthy of life, care, and information.

We are The Evidence: Massachusetts was created to put a face and a name to those who have been saved and saved others using Naloxone (Narcan). These individuals received overdose response training and access to Narcan kits through harm reduction programs, street outreach programs, syringe exchange programs, substance use treatment facilities and family support groups through-out Massachusetts. We want to show that non-medical people are just as capable of saving lives and appropriately responding to the medical emergency of overdose when armed with the correct tools. It is our hope that when watching these videos we can humanize and inspire others to advocate for Narcan distribution to non-medical people (bystanders) in their communities. We are capable, valuable, important members of our community.

Price of life.

What happens when we can't afford Naloxone anymore?

Bystander programs are having trouble sustaining Naloxone distribution due to big pharma increasing the wholesale and single sale price of Naloxone by 1100%.

Nasal Naloxone:
- 2 doses and 2 atomizers are now over $90.00
- the price use to be less than 1/3 of that for the 2 dose kit

Injectable Naloxone:
- $25-$30 per 1mL vial (this is a very small amount)
- the price use to be $3-$5 for 1mL vials

Evzio Auto-Injector:
- $361.00 to $456.00

Interesting article to read. Call big pharma on their anti-lifesaving measures.
