Coles County ROSC Continues Anti-Stigma Campaign with October Youth Prevention Focus
COLES COUNTY, IL — The Coles County Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC) Council is now entering its 16th consecutive month of the Anti-Stigma Campaign: “WE CAN AND DO RECOVER.”
The October campaign theme centers on youth prevention, addressing important topics such as substance use prevention and domestic violence awareness. Through ongoing communication efforts in schools, libraries, community centers, and across social media, the campaign aims to equip young people and their families with tools that promote healthier choices, reduce stigma,
and encourage open conversations.
October is recognized nationally as both Substance Use and Misuse Prevention Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month. By aligning local prevention efforts with these national observances, the Coles County ROSC Council is working to create a stronger, safer community for youth.
Resources highlighted during the October campaign include:
• Coles County ROSC Council Recovery Resources
• National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-SAFE (7233)
• SAMHSA’s Helpline: 1-800-662-HELP (4357)
The Coles County ROSC Council encourages youth, parents, educators, and community members to join the October campaign and help strengthen prevention efforts across the community.
