At 3 a.m. the half moon rested quietly in our own slumber.... tender and glowing in its own sacred becoming above our Valley County skies.
And watching there beneath it, I could not help but think of, us.
How human it is to move in and outta phases - much like the moon.
How natural it is to sometimes feel full of life and wonder. Other times we may feel only half lit. Weary, uncertain, and even quietly searching for ourselves out there.
Yet the moon never fights the phase it is in.
It never fears its own dimming.
It trusts that even after the darkest nights, it will return to the Light.
Some days we are radiant and overflowing.
Some days we are only the faintest crescent - holding onto the smallest sliver of hope.
And some seasons call us inward completely. Into stillness, silence, reflection and rest.
A sacred hibernation of the soul.
But even then, something within us is still alive. Still becoming.
Still gently pulling itself toward the Light again.
Slowly and softly - we rise.
We fill our hearts back up.
We begin to glow again.
The moon does not rush its becoming, and neither should we.
Keep going, dear soul.
Much like the moon moves through its sacred cycles every 28 days, we too are always becoming new again.
Even after darkness - even after emptiness - the light always returns.
Hold on through the quiet seasons of your soul.
Your fullness will come back around, allowing your spirit to glow again.
