Last week during our Synergy Celebration, we had the privilege of recognizing the names and years behind decades of service at Southwest Health.

Now, we’re honored to share the faces behind those milestones.

These moments are more than an awards ceremony. They represent years of early mornings, long shifts, problem-solving, teamwork, compassion, and commitment to the people of Southwest Mississippi. Every photo tells part of the story of a team that continues to show up for patients, coworkers, and this community year after year.

Thank you to each team member recognized during this year’s Service Awards Ceremony. Your dedication has helped shape Southwest Health into what it is today, and your impact continues far beyond the years listed beside your name.

Some people leave an impression on a workplace; others leave an imprint on the people inside it.

That is what Project SEARCH has become at Southwest Health.

During Synergy Week, we had the privilege of celebrating the graduation of four incredible young adults: Anna Gayden, Lance Reynolds, Max Sheppard, and JaMayia Wells.

Project SEARCH is a program designed to help young adults gain real-world workplace experience and build the skills, confidence, and independence needed for future employment opportunities. Through hands-on learning across different departments, these students have spent the past year developing professional skills while becoming part of the everyday rhythm of Southwest Health.

But somewhere along the way, they became much more than students completing a program.

They became familiar faces in our hallways. Bright spots in difficult days. Conversations people looked forward to. Reminders that kindness, perseverance, and joy still matter deeply in the workplace.

Healthcare can be fast-paced and demanding, yet these students brought something into this organization that cannot be taught in training sessions or meetings: perspective, positivity, and genuine human connection. Their growth over this past year has been incredible to witness, but the impact they have had on all of us may be even greater.

Thank each of you for the energy, determination, laughter, and light you bring to our halls each day. You have made this organization better simply by being part of it.

We are incredibly proud of each of you and cannot wait to see where life takes you next. 💙

Pizza and nachos might be two of the quickest ways to bring people together.

Friday’s Synergy Week lunch brought employees together over a nacho bar filled with carnitas, pulled pork, and plenty of toppings, while Papa John’s was delivered to off-site locations throughout the day.

Even during busy schedules, moments like these give teams across Southwest Health a chance to slow down for a little while, connect with coworkers, and enjoy time together outside the usual routine. That sense of connection is what continues to make Synergy Week special across every department and location.

There’s a reason teamwork is one of our core values. 💙

Congratulations to our Ambulatory Surgery Center team for being voted the 2026 Southwest Health Core Values Grand Prize Champion! From compassion and excellence to integrity, respect, and teamwork, this group represents the very best of who we are.

Enjoy the bragging rights, the Al Dente lunch, and that $500 prize… you earned it. 👏🏆

50 years.

Think about how much life has changed in fifty years, and through all of it, you were here helping care for a community, support your coworkers, and move Southwest Health forward one day at a time.

That is more than dedication. That is legacy-level impact.

Long before modern healthcare looked the way it does today, you were already part of this story. Before new buildings, before new systems, before many current employees were even born, your work was already shaping the future of this organization.

And somehow, after all these years, your impact still continues.

People often talk about leadership as something loud or visible. But some of the most important leadership happens quietly: through consistency, perseverance, wisdom, and the decision to continue showing up even on the hardest days. That kind of strength changes organizations over time.

Fifty years of service means you have witnessed history here. But even more importantly, you helped create it.

Very few people will ever leave behind the kind of mark you have on Southwest Health. Your dedication became part of the culture. Part of the standard. Part of the reason this organization became what it is today.

Thank you for fifty incredible years of commitment, excellence, and belief in something bigger than yourself. What an extraordinary legacy to celebrate.

Synergy Week went full retro yesterday and honestly… the vibes were electric. ⚡️🎶

From neon and leg warmers to t-shirt giveaways and gourmet popsicles, our team showed up ready to party like it was 1985. Even better, popsicle sales helped support the Baptist Children's Village and Family Ministries proving healthcare teams really do know how to mix fun with heart. 💙

Thank you to Pop Brothers for coming out and serving our staff throughout the day, and to St.Luke Home Health & Hospice for bringing giveaways, door prizes, and some seriously gnarly surprises… including a Turtlebox and Bogg Bag set.

The party kept rolling into the evening with pizza, popsicles, and t-shirts for teams on 6th floor because around here, Synergy Week doesn’t just stop when the clock hits 5.

45 years of service is rare. 45 years of continuing to care, lead, adapt, solve problems, and push forward no matter what changed around you? That’s extraordinary.

Entire eras of healthcare have come and gone during your time at Southwest Health. Technology evolved. Buildings expanded. New faces arrived by the hundreds. But through every chapter, you remained one of the people others could count on to keep things moving forward.

People like you do not simply work inside an organization for 45 years; they become part of what holds it together.

There is something incredibly powerful about a person who continues to show up with purpose decade after decade. The kind of person whose influence is felt in ways most people will never fully see. A steady voice. A familiar face. A standard of excellence that quietly shapes the culture around them.

That kind of legacy cannot be replaced, and it certainly cannot be taught overnight.

Thank you for 45 years of commitment, resilience, wisdom, and heart. Southwest Health is better because you chose to keep building it year after year.

40 years later… and your impact is still growing.

Entire buildings, departments, systems, and generations of employees have changed over the years, but one thing has remained consistent: your dedication to Southwest Health and the people who keep it moving forward every single day.

Forty years of service is not built through one big moment. It is built quietly over time through reliability, leadership, problem-solving, hard work, and the willingness to continue showing up no matter what the day brings. The kind of commitment that becomes part of the foundation others depend on without even realizing it.

Very few people leave this kind of mark on an organization. Your knowledge, work ethic, and steady presence have helped shape Southwest Health in ways that will continue long after today.

Thank you for 40 remarkable years of dedication and for being such an important part of our story.

If these walls could talk, they would probably mention your name a few times.

For 35 years, you’ve been part of the everyday moments that keep us moving: the long days, the teamwork, the laughter, the challenges, and the care that happens behind the scenes long before anyone ever says “thank you.”

Thirty-five years means generations of coworkers have learned from you, worked beside you, and been encouraged by your presence. That kind of time doesn’t just build experience but builds trust, relationships, and a lasting impact that has slowly become a part of our identity.

Thank you for 35 years of showing up and continuing to care for us all in ways big and small. What an incredible milestone to celebrate.
