The latest issue of Southwest Health Magazine centers on women’s health as told through the voices of those who serve, care, and advocate every day.

“Midwifery allows me to be part of the story,” writes Certified Nurse Midwife, Tera Givens, in this issue’s cover article. Alongside her reflections, the magazine highlights women’s services, mammography, patient stories, and our commitment to being a Baby-Friendly hospital.

2026 began with a brand-new reason to smile 💙

Born January 3 at 4:30 p.m., Jo’siah Caleb Brown is the first baby of the year at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Weighing 7 lbs., 13 oz. and measuring 21 inches long, his first moments marked the beginning of a new life and a special start to the year.

Jo’siah was welcomed by his mother, Jamaria Armani Brown, and his sister, Harmoni Dior Washington, with care provided by Dr. Patrick Daigle. Also, part of his first moments, though not pictured, was pediatrician Dr. Michael Artigues.

We send our warmest wishes to the Brown family as they begin this special new chapter together.
